The Song Fight Bulletin Board

The songfight forums logo in the left hand corner is a link to http://www.songfight.org. Why doesn't it link to the forums? Could it be cut in half and have both?

I sorta recall that it USED to link to the forums and then somebody pointed out that there's no link to songfight on the forums page, so I'll betcha this was the quick and easy answer to that.

Depending on how much source code access the admins have to the BB software, it may or may not be relatively simple to make two separate links. I like having a link to songfight.org on the forums pages, so I'd vote to keep it this way if making two separate links is difficult...

I agree. Can it be both... SF.org on the logo and the forum on the forum side.

Why do you need a link to the forums when you're already in the forums, and there are many other links to the forums at the top and bottom of every page? I have nothing against linking to both as long as the link to .org stays. I find it very useful.

Let's keep it simple. I think each pixel should link to a different song in the archives.

Ken, here is the link you are looking for. It is on every page that the logo is on, and directly below it. It makes a lot of sense that the SONG FIGHT! logo links to the actual SONG FIGHT! site, while the "Song Fight Network Forum Index" links to the Forum. Don't you think?

Hey Spud,

Yes. I know there is a "Song Fight Network Forum Index" link, but my attention is drawn to the big red Songfight! in the corner. Also, that logo says Song Fight Forums does it not? That's why I suggested the split. Mostly for my own idiosyncratic convenience.

When I'm browsing the forums with images turned off (cough, at work, cough) the text that appears in place of the image in the upper left is "The Song Fight Network Forum Index", which seems kinda confusing since it links to songfight.org. Maybe it would be nice to at least change the alt text of the so that it says "SongFight.org", since that's what it links to?

But then people who have the visual would get confused because it says 'forums' but doesn't go to the forums, where you already are ....

Ah, since I had images turned off I didn't realize the image had "Forums" in it. Still, something somewhere is not entirely making sense around here. Now that I see the image, Ken's suggestion (of cutting it in two and making the "Song Fight!" part link to http://songfight.org/ and the "Forums" part link to http://www.songfight.net/forums/) sounds pretty good.
