I don't think I have time to write my own song this week, but I'm a trained opera singer (sadly out of practice...) and I've got a symphonic sample library, if anyone wants to take advantage of it.

But are ya single? I mean...I'm generally in the market for vocals, and your style (from the above description, mind you) fits. What songs have you sang on?

Actually, it's spelt Ellice Is. (plural, not singular) - though it's now known as Tuvalu, it's major industry being the sale of .tv domain names - it is part of Polynesia though - nice link in the titles.

Though I'm sure it would have been nice to arrive in the U.S. via a polynesian island, I think Deep Throat means the Ellis Island in New York Harbour, next to the Statue of Liberty... Unless it's moved, or he doesn't.

So are you planning to be in it next week?

Not the harbour, obviously. I mean the statue.

I complained about no lyrics and somehow got chest poked hard enough to do an instrumental side fight. Its frigin' mind control I tell ya. It's that jedi hand wave thing - its just wrong! Its evil freewill stealing brain washing bullpucky, Father bingo is beelzabub with a backbeat. Can I back out now and have it look like rightous indignation?

Yeah, I laid out the ground work for my "Ellis Island" last night. And man, you're going doooown! Snap into a Slim Jim! Grr!

Bah. My ISP died right after my post. I'm guessing there's no time left for this week's fight, but just for future reference: I like to think I can sing!

Mind you, that's pretty quick'n'dirty (no warm up, or anything), but it should give you an idea of my voice.

Does anyone have any recordings of marching band drum lines? I need about 8 bars worth for this week's song.

Audio search tool. Type in marching band drum line and you're sure to find something.

When you search, look for "cadences". I used to be a drum major.

NO LYRICS AND ROBO DRUMs ... whata scam! Howz about - Does anyone have 12 3/4 bars of a mandolin charted with a drop D guitar and a flute playing a dorion riff with variations on yata yata...... it's cheating Im outraged! (and at this rate I'm never gonna get this beast born)

Adding "drum corps" to the search might help weed out some of the unwanted hits, too.

Sure beats lurking the high schools in your area with an audio recorder and one of those furry covered field mikes, heh.

Spud: Awesome. And I'm not surprised at all. Add me to the (growing) list of drum majors on this site

What's a drum major?

Seriously. This term is kinda foreign to me. Does that just mean that you played drums in a school marching band? Or does it mean that it was at the college level? And is this specific to marching music, or drums in general?

(I'm trying to determine if going to jazz school as a drummer qualifies me for the club... or am I left staring up at the ladder with a pitcher of kool-aid yelling "c'mon guys. Let me up. C'mon).
