I don't listen to Prince much, but Purple Rain is unbelievable!

To be able to pick out one single favorite Prince song, I needed to narrow a very long list. Honorable mentions to "The Beautiful Ones" which is probably my favorite song including the Revolution, and "Anotherlove" which may be a fairly new song but the dual guitars of Prince and Donna Grantis (of 3rdEyeGirl) are phenomenal. I have to go with Gold. Gold is essentially a brighter version of Purple Rain but instead of the Revolution, you get the New Power Generation. Michael Bland, Tommy Barbarella & Sonny T are my definitive Prince backing band.

I'd say When Doves Cry. I also dig the cover of it from that Romeo + Juliet movie but it's pretty different.
