Oh man, I haven't talked to Chad in so long. It'll be great to have a chance to do so again.

Is he still doing the bizarre media relations stuff for McAfee?

Thank all the old gods and the new, no.

I did ask him to make the central chicken a "musical" chicken -- I'll post the new version later!

Yes. The guitar and trumpet guy must be somehow worked in. Non-optional challenge.

Meanwhile - I had my own art department knock this one up for me. Don't worry - I know it is completely meaningless to you all over there - but to anyone from New South Wales or Queensland, trust me - it is gold:

Wish I was good enough at photoshop to give Blue Man a trumpet and Maroon Man a guitar

I'll be there. Probably with an acoustic set.

I plan on arriving the week before and possibly leaving the 17th because CAKE has a show the 16th.

Ok, kids, change of venue for Friday night!

http://culminationbrewing.com/

i just had the pleasure of meeting with Tomas of Culmination Brewing, and he is super-stoked about the Songfight enterprise. Culmination's new venue space will be up and running by August 14th, -- they'll have food, mics, PA, and, of course AWESOME CRAFT BEER.

Tomas is also a musician, and is, as it turns out, excited about the prospect of performing at the gig. I explained to him that he would have to enter some fights to qualify, and it sounds like he just might do that. So be nice to him when he stops round these parts. (I warned him to expect a lot of shit -- but that it would be "the shit of love.")

Culmination is 21 and over after 7:00 pm, so plan accordingly. Again, let me know if you need help wrangling kid-sit duties.

I'm updating the various threads to reflect this change -- please let me know if I miss updating anywhere.

That all sounds pretty great, although, tbh the fact that their venue space isn't open now makes me a tiny bit nervous. We have had issues with venues having their own issues, in the past. You may want to have a backup plan in case anything goes awry that pushes back their opening date.

Oh, the space is actually ready to go, they just haven't had their "grand opening" yet. We'll be OK!

Also, is anyone interested in a bike ride or hike? Likely during the day on Thursday? We can cruise around Portland in satin Songfight jackets.

True. It's just missing some times, like the Mississippi Pizza show and when we can use the practice space.
