I think my favorite song of hers is the version of Proud Mary she sings with Ike. I like the rough part the best. With a honorable mention going to Private Dancer which I like to sing at Karaoke.

Yeah, that's a great version of "Proud Mary." When I was a kid I thought it was the original.

For my favorite, I guess it's "What's Love Got to Do with It?"

She's also excellent as a guest on this Herbie Hancock track covering Joni Mitchell's "Edith and the Kingpin."

Honorable mention to GoldenEye, but I love her "Thudnerdome" track. I think it's called "We don't need another hero".

Frank Zappa wanted to use backup singers on the songs "I'm the Slime", "Dirty Love", "Zomby Woof", "Dinah-Moe Humm" and "Montana". His road manager suggested The Ikettes, and Ike & Tina Turner were contacted. Ike Turner insisted that Zappa pay the singers, including Tina Turner, no more than $25 per song. During the recording sessions, Tina brought Ike into the studio to hear one of her recordings with Zappa. Ike listened to the tape and responded "What is this shit?" before leaving the studio.Ike later insisted that Zappa would not credit the Ikettes on the released album.

In the documentary for Overnite Sensation Dweezil pulls out the cashed check made out to the Ikettes for like $200.

Tina is great. Great singer. What did she write?

For 80's nostalgia and girl power I like "Better Be Good to Me"

Does that matter?
