Like many, Goo is the first Sonic Youth album I really got into, and it's really hard to pick favorites from it, since it's all so, so good. Many of my favorite Sonic Youth tracks seem to be written and sung by Lee Ranaldo, he's like Sonic Youth's Tobin Sprout. It's really hard to choose, but I'm going to go with Mote. Honorable mention to Disappearer, Titanium Exposé, and everything else on Goo really.

Bull in the Heather.

The first time I heard it was at like 2 AM and I was having trouble sleeping and it came on right after "Undone (the sweater song)" by Weezer, which was also the first time I'd heard that, and in my sleep-deprived mind I thought they were a continuous mix of a single weird song.

When I was in high school, I found a cassette of Dirty in the used bin at my local record shop for a buck or two. I'd never really heard their stuff, but the DJs on the late-night shows on public radio station WMNF loved them, so I picked it up on a whim. Therefore, that record will always hold a special place in my heart.

My favorite: 100%
