"Violet Wants It Her Way", hands down.

Oh wow, what??? This is kinda funny to see. I don't personally think my output has the breadth or depth to deserve being a QotD but thanks. At this point I still think of myself more as a musician than a songwriter, and I don't really put myself in the same category as my favorite luminaries of Song Fight. I think there are a lot of folks whose music I have loved over the years that I would put ahead of myself for QotD: add, Frank, 15-16 Puzzle, Glenn Case, Ken, State Shirt, Future Boy, Carol Cleveland Sings, Jonathan Mann, Boltoph, C Hack, c.layne, Minty Handy, Starfinger, etc. etc. etc. Too many to list them all. The archive is really a treasure trove.

That being said, at the moment, the song that I've made that I'm happiest with is my "Deep Sub-Reddit" entry. Overall I think "Hold My Calls" is pretty solid too though. But they're both humorous songs, which to my own tastes are on a lower tier than serious songs, frankly.

The top of my list is a classic, Lunkhead's tribute to hipster bingo: Dirty Chucks.

His contributions to Berkeley Social Scene are many, but my favorite may be: Drunk Season. (Watching the Riot is also awesome, but maybe a little too new for me to pick it as a favorite yet.)

My favorite song that shows how well Lunkhead both whistles and makes the devil voice: Loyalty Day's Chainsaw!

And man, that guy can shred: Otalgia.

Oh, and we all love his latest Paco del Stinko cover!

Before I became friends with Lunkhead I was a big fan of his Control Yourself.
Of his projects:
Solo: Control Yourself
Tiny Robots: Bullets and Lovers
Merisan: Down to Under
BSS : That's the Joke

Of his covers, the Talking Heads : this must be the Place

Here's the The that's the Joke video-

You may see yourself as more of a musician than a songwriter but that doesn't diminish your contributions. You have made some great songs here. Songfight is very collaborative in nature and you have been a great example of that. Why shouldn't that be celebrated?

Lunkhead's Deep Sub-Reddit is my favorite song of his of the handful I've heard. That fight coincidentally is my first and favorite fight.

For the sake of manageability for this post I'm just going to comment on Lunkhead Lunkhead:

I really like The Joke and Deep Sub-Reddit, but Control Yourself has to be my favorite.

I know it's BSS but "Thinking About the Old Days" is just fantastic.

Still counts. Lunkhead does a spectacular job on that song.

I get a lot of compliments on Thinkin 'Bout the old days, and I had very little to do with the writing, I do think of it as a Lunkhead song in the BSS catalog.

"The Rumor Lives Strong" by BSS sticks with me, for whatever reason. Also his solo "Deep Sub-Reddit". I think I may not know half the bands Lunkhead is in, so this isn't the most informed opinion.

Violet. The live one from Boston 2005 is particularly great.
