9th Annual Gift of Music
It's beginning to look a lot like GOM everywhere you go.
After 8 years, I think everyone has a grasp of the concept but here's the short & sweet version. Every participant picks 4 songs that they would love to hear covered and post it here. On a date TBA in the near future, I'll take all participants names and put them in a hat. The participants will be given someone else's list via PM and must cover (at least) one song from the list. On a date TBA in January, over at Eddiebangs' Soul Tree Records website, all the songs will be posted and then there will be a vote. Winners get a prize pack from Soul Tree Records, a t-shirt and a donation will be sent in their name to a charity near and dear to Eddiebangs' heart- the JDRF.
Got the idea? It's a musical Secret Santa Songfight style. Okay, start entering and listing your song choices. And keep an eye on this first post as it will include updated info as the GOM goes on.

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
Loved this last year, in again this year... I'll post my choices after much consideration.
[edit]and my picks this year are as follows:
1. st. louise is listening by soul coughing
2.jaked on green beers by alkaline trio
3. a favor house atlantic by coheed & cambria
4. otha fish by the pharcyde
hopefully that gives enough variation for someone to make an easy pick. i have a feeling which one will be picked, but any would be great!

Woo Hoo! Yeah, I'm in. And this year I'm going to destroy it! Much like Caravan Ray's gigantic head did to his mum's lady business when he was born.

I've blown too many of these, so I won't be joining. But I eagerly look forward to hearing the greatness that is GOM.

I. Do. Not . Have. A BIG HEADBilly's Little Trip wrote:Much like Caravan Ray's gigantic head did to his mum's lady business when he was born.
my mother did tell me years later that she did take me to the doctor just after my birth and ask if my head was a normal size and shape. He said - yes it was a bit unususal - but not really abnormal.
Thanks for bringing it up BLT. At least Mum always loved it. Just like a sperm whale mother.
At school - my friends thought this was the funniest thing ever:

Re: 9th Annual Gift of Music
Man, GOM is my favorite time of the year. I actually started making a "short list" of potential GOM requests a few weeks ago. The list has grown to about 15 songs, so I need to pare it back a bit.
