using vst plugins in acid 4.0
using vst plugins in acid 4.0
i've been trying to get acid 4.0 to recognize the vst effects that i have, but to no avail. it tell it which directory to go to, and it scans it, but i'm still unable to choose the effect. (it recognizes soft synths, but not effects). this seems like it should be simple thing, but apparently it is not. any advice?

well, it definitely lets you use vst soft synths, but you might be right about vst effects. i just imagined that if it had support for one, the other would naturally also be included. that unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case.HeuristicsInc wrote:wait, i thought only acid 5 understood vsts.

yeah ACID 4 can't use VST effects only VSTi softsynths. not sure about 5 though. There are DirectX to VST wrappers but I've heard they're buggy and don't work very well (like most wrappers in general). You could try downloading Kristal or Audacity (they're both free) and try setting them as one of your audio editors in ACID (or just manually exporting from ACID) and then processing the file in Kristal or Audacity.
