"Out On The Meadow" First song written in 1984 (age 14) - don't remember the words. I want to record the first song I wrote that I remember the words & everything to, whether it counts or not.
"No Holiday" First song recorded in 1995ish - really looking forward to reliving it.

unforutunately, I'm not in anymore. I simply ran out o fo time...and ddn't even get the chance to look for the original copy, much less try to relearn and record it. BUT, I like the idea enough that I intend to do it anyways, and I'll post it here for ya'll. Good luck to everyone in the actual fight tho.
Cheers!

I would participate in this...if only I had my childhood weapon of choice- the Kawasaki One Man Jam guitar.
Ah, the joys of the first band- a huge real drumset, a cheap fake guitar, a real bass but no amp, a roadie for no reason but to have someone to kick around, no mics so we had to scream over the din. We were a bad mix of having no cash, being kids and having our only ideas of what a rock band should be come from Bill & Ted, Jem! and 80's metal videos. Oh, the good times.

Not sue which one to submit.
"Jimmy Owen Is the Greatest Person in the World", a cappella, written at the dinner table when about 5
"Cowboys in the City", second piano composition. First one, "In the Waiting Room", lost forever. Anyway, CITC was my first written down composition, about age 7 or 8.
"Bean Parfait", age 18, first song recorded, after which point I have never stopped writing
They all could lay claim to being the first. Hmm......

The first one sounds like the most embarrassing. That's a good choice.

"Bean Parfait" for the Pink fight.
There is no reason not to enter both fights. I encourage you to do so.

I am pretty sure my first "song" was "I Can't Hear You", from the 10th grade or so. I have no idea how I'll record the guitar solos (which were played on a very cheap guitar I didn't know how to tune and which was never in my possession tuned to anything resembling real notes), but I'm sure I'll be in for this fight with that track.

EDIT:
Scratch that, this doesn't count as a song. I'll find something--or else I'll just pass, like a loser. Sniffle.

it is with great shame that I bow out of this fight, again. I've just been buried in all aspects of life other than music, and I haven't even started this. Apologies everyone. But I think it's an awesome idea, awesome enough that I still plan to do it anyhow. I'll post the results here when I'm done.
That said, I can't wait to hear everyone else's!

The submissions have been posted. Funny how no one that asked for the extension actually took advantage of it.
Here's the explanation of my songs...
Hell's Rejects was my first recording project. My friend and I wrote a bunch of songs as this fictional band in sixth grade. I then sat down and recorded about five of them onto a cassette live, playing my 25 key casio keyboard and Plastic mic. Hyper Active Doughnuts was always my favorite, and the one that made my older brother and his friends laugh with the "cha cha cha" part.
Something Smells (Som'in Smells) was written before school when I was in first grade and my brother was in third. We thought we were so clever. Somehow the lyric sheet survived. This is how I have imagined it for years, although I don't think we even had a melody in the beginning, just the rhythm.
Vote in the <a href="http://www.songfight.net/forums/viewtop ... 0">poll</a> and also check the <a href="http://www.songfight.net/forums/viewtop ... 1">Lyrical Rampage</a>

well, my intention was definitely to participate, but sometimes life gets in the way. Sorry I couldn't bring down the average quality factor of this fight for everyone!
(to be fair tho, I never really asked for an extension...I was simply hopeful I could get mine done when you gave it...)
On with the listenage!
