Your Spoken Word Pieces

Post by Billy's Little Trip »

I've been digging through some of my old writings that I call Phobacidic Phraseology. They don't have title names, just numbers. I've always been fascinated with conspiracy theories and I like to create my own takes on world wide situations, religion, aliens, the universe, acts of God, politics, etc, as I see them. Does anyone else write stuff like this and maybe have any recorded? I'd love to read, but preferably hear them. This would be a good thread to share.
If this is just an uninteresting subject, then never mind. I just want to see if there are any like minded people here to share theories.

Here is one I recorded:
This one is called Phobacidic phraseology #7
Let me know what you think. If there are any others that like to do this stuff, I may record more or collab on some background scores to other spoken word pieces. I'd like to someday put together a full album of my Phobacidic Phraseology including as many others that would like to add theirs.

Hah, this sounds so different from the othere stuff I've heard from you. Very eerie sounding.

I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I have a similar piece called Here Come the Transporters.

Erik, that is exactly what Phobacidic Phraseology is to me. Not quite books on tape, not quite songs, but that middle ground where the "music" or background sounds helps to paint the picture of your spoken piece.
By the way, although I personally like conspiracy theories, this thread is open to all spoken word.

HaHa, Fluffy you're funny! Who'da thunk. The Moscow one is great and the absolutely horrible punchline ending was perfect......so perfect in fact that human ears shouldn't be allowed to hear that punchline. :P

The Penguin one is really good also. And I'll have you know sir, I AM a codependent asshole too! But I'd never make fun of Penga'wins.

Damn, I hope more people here start adding their secret spoken words tracks. I could listen to this stuff for hours.

Both of those were completely improvised on the spot. In Moscow, Idaho (where I didn't even know what the punchline was going to be until I got to it) I made the music afterwards. In God Hates Penguins I rambled while playing the guitar with the idea that i'd eventually break into song but thinking about the poor little penguins made me too depressed to come up with an actual song. Oh well!

oh and I guess any talk about spoken-word tracks would be remiss if I didn't bring up http://songfight.org/music/elements_of_ ... e_teos.mp3 (Mad Dog and I had a hell of a lot of fun doing that one)

That was interesting, kind of a beatnik poetry style. Mad Dog has a cool voice.

Can I just say that spoken work poetry is the most fucking stupid/obnoxius/shittty/retarded/worst thing to have ever been invented. Fuck that pretentious bull fuck.

I will fight anyone that defends spoken word to the fucking death.

Once again, drunk. Last night was a bad night for aggressive drunk posting.

I don't like spoken word, but some people do. I like poetry readings though. I don't like when I feel that the person speaking is acting. I just want to hear a person saying honest and good poetry to the audience as directly as they can.

I like poetry readings in bars.

Did you listen to Fluffy's "Moscow" up tharrr ^^^? It's not poetry or spoken word. More of a humorous story on the fly set to music.

This probably isn't what you're talking about, but I write poetry slams. So there'll be no music in the background, but here's the one that has gone over the best:

Always Look On The "Right" Side Of Life

Don't do drugs
Don't give out hugs
Don't get an abortion
Don't immigrate
And don't get married if you're gay

You are a republican
The object of my affliction
You run the church of hot addiction
Or any other church except for Satanists or Jews
Because they're smarter than you
But that's besides the point

We are a nation under God
We are a nation of godless people
We are a nation united
Separate but equal
Separated between church and state
With no national language
Except for english

We thrust ourselves onto other people in the name of democracy
We are a nation ruled by hypocracy
We topple nations for our diplomacy
Yet feel threatened when others do what they believe
We tried to quench communism
Even though they just wanted to spread what they thought was true
But we put them in a bad view
Because that's what Americans do

You are a republican
You lower taxes and kill the environment
You are a stereotype that stereotypes stereotypes into being stereotypes
You don't believe in global warming
Despite all the rising evidence against you
You have FOX news
That people just watch so they can see the other side
The coinflip of the equation
And laugh at you

You are a republican
You are misunderstood by most people ages 14-30 and 60-80
And every minority
Everyone hates every belief you have
Until they have to start paying taxes

You are a republican
And you hate Bush too
But no one gives a damn
Because that doesn't follow their plan
Of making fun of you for voting for someone so incompetent
Everything you say is irrelivant
Because you are a republican

Maybe if you just hugged a tree
You'd be able to see
Why we are so crazy
And why we are freaks
But we love our beliefs
Even if we are meek
Or we are weak
Because we know more than you

You are a republican
You are most often an upper-middle class white person
You love your SUVs and Hummers and other big cars that don't really do anything except solidify your status as upper-middle class, and usually white
Though if I were racist I'd say a lot of blacks have Hummers too because they are bullet proof and are good in the hood

You are a republican
You are stiff and unrelenting
You are a freak in bed
At least a lot better than Hilary
She is just scary
No wonder Bill made some under-the-table deals
But that is what democrats do

And you don't want to do that because
You are a republican
God bless this land
From sea to shining sea
So we can be
Forever hidden in society
But what the media has to say
Every day
Even if it's just about who's marrying who
You don't have a clue

Because you are a republican
You are a red state
A redneck that is determined to hate
Every change and every dream
That people make to seem
Good, but you know it won't be
It will be the downfall of all civilization as we know it

Because you are a republican
And I'm proud to say I'm one of you
Most hated nerdcore rapper.
