Death Magnetic

Fucking awesome album. Yeah, yah, there are technical issues for the nerds to get hung up on. Yeah, the snare sound was sounding weak to me on first listen (no more though). Yes, I could do without Unforgiven 3 (1 or 2 for that matter).

But I listen to this and wonder why the hell the world had to endure Black, Load, Re-load, more loads of shit... until this fucking thing rocked my brains out.

The riffage is unreal. So excellent.

All I want to do now is write more metal. Play more metal. Cause, ya know, it's kinda what I grew up with, and it's kinda... feeling... RIGHT.

RIGHT EXCELLENT AND MASSIVE. Kinda like Blue's um... drum kit.

Barely. I can drum again now that my ankle is fully healed...well, I have been for a few months actually, but I got no studio access that is anyway or anything significant, or at least able to meet deadlines (cause sf is all about them dead lines) as my job SUDDENLY became a freakin camp job.= back in May.. I work too much. Fortunately I make the same money (sarcasm) , and get to hang out on facebook while lamenting the injustices of the universe.. but it all wraps up in October and then I'm home.... weeeeehhhhheeeee!

And I'm still losing my mind enjoying this album. It actually sounds like some songfighter recorded it...maybe that's why the sound quality doesn't piss me off like some people...

I was until they went platinum. Once they shifted their sound to "urban folk-jazz performance art" I had to move on.

Apparently this album sounds better in Guitar Hero than on the CD because they compressed/limited/clipped the hell out of the tracks on the CD for maximum apparent loudness:

Wow, so even the high paid pros are caught in the loudness quandaries. I feel a little better now. But to be honest, I like the new CD for it's songs. I haven't been rocked this hard in a while.
