From Outer Space reviews

Balls To Monte : I had to do this one only because I own a theremin. I had some technical difficulties due to a change in computer [from a Mac to a PC] and I no longer had access to my mastering software, etc. Anyways, I hope it turned out OK regardless. The Idiot Kings : Love the retro Sci-Fi feel...

Re: They came (From Outer Space prefight)

Balls To Monte is in. I couldn't pass this one up, mostly because I actually own a theremin and can finally put it to good use.

From Outer Space by Balls To Monte Lyrics by Fred Benz There’re two sides to every story You're running a two man race Half of you heads for the past The other half from outer space Your friends are like mile markers You use to set the pace You don’t ever want to go home You want to go to outer spac...

On a related note, is there a mastering software that anyone can recommend? Thanks in advance.
This might be a good place to start.

Re: Cherish the time as it slowly disappears (Unstoppable Force reviews)

Balls to Monte 1. This really rocks. On my airpods, the treble is a bit too intense. 2. It turns out that "immovable object" is not that easy to fit naturally into lyrics, and you do it here. I like the bounce. 3. I like that little fade thing as the solo guitar comes in. I have a feeling...

Re: Cherish the time as it slowly disappears (Unstoppable Force reviews)

Ball to Monte: "Good old rock, nothing beats rock!" I'm gonna play this loudly several times on Father's Day when I'm drinking beer and floating down the river. The production on this is really smooth and I love the sound of the vocals. (Is this how you mic your voice normally or did you ...

Re: Cherish the time as it slowly disappears (Unstoppable Force reviews)

Add : Really like the vocoder here. I also really like the chorus/breakdown and the generally funky groove plus great drum and synth. Also love the backwards guitar. A lot to love here, obviously. Great job. Balls To Monte : Listening now, it kinda reminds me of "Rubber Bullets" by 10cc. ...

Soft Rick - I love your genre-hopping abilities, not to reduce it to that. I just think it’s a wonderful talent. Plus, the actual song is truly wonderful, beautifully arranged and played. Duncan Martin - I really like the pirate-song-meets-surburbia thing you seem to do. Whether or not that what yo...

Re: ELO is on tour again! (A New World Record reviews)

Thank you again for all of the kind words. We're definitely hoping to do more of these very soon.
It's so great to hear all of these songs; they're so great. As corny as it sounds, it's incredibly inspiring.

Re: ELO is on tour again! (A New World Record reviews)

Balls To Monte : This is us again. This started out very McCartney and became very Lennon. Not sure why. Frankie Big Face : Wow! I love this! The production is as close to perfect as any of us can afford. The slightly-obscured love story. The vocoder[I'm guessing an homage to ELO]. I love everythin...

Re: Even if we're just... Drinking in the Dark (reviews)

Add - Your songs are always amazing, and this one is no exception. I love the little production touches with the one, like the Leslie'd vocals on the chorus. The organ sounds amazing, and slightly-jazzy lead guitar throughout is such a nice binding element. The spoken verse is a great turn as well....

Drinking In The Dark by Balls To Monte [lyrics by Fred Benz] You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning Honey don’t you change my credo to a warning A day that started in air quotes Ended with a question mark You danced off into the moonlight I'm here drinking in the dark I just don't...

Re: Doesn't count if it's anonymous (Letter To The Editor reviews)

Balls To Monte I hate to be a snob but direct recorded acoustic guitar sounds like ass, please use a mic!! :P I like the 2/4+4/4 intro thing. This seems like a good start on a cool song, but it feels unfinished. I hope you flesh it out more in the future. Right and double-right. I intended to recor...

Re: Doesn't count if it's anonymous (Letter To The Editor reviews)

Here are my reviews: Balls To Monte - This more of a vignette than a song, but I wanted to upload something after such a long time away. Not awful, but hardly a finished song. Afraidy Cougar - Really like the Velvets-type feel of this. Great tune and lyrics. The relaxed, occasionally sloppy, deliver...

Re: Goodbye Blue Lang
