Re: Gift of Music 2020/2021

At the risk of heading further into The Homesickness, here's our local Swamp Wallabies from 2015. Aka the Swallabies.

I’ve already filled in the form, but would have totally said yes to mixing if it was there.

Re: Gift of Music 2020/2021

My song is sent! oh wow this version of Basket Case is amazing. A 6-minute slow jam is definitely not what I expected and I am really into it. I never saw myself making a six plus minute version of Basket Case, but I’m glad you like it! It was really enjoyable to make. :) I also made an album cover...

Re: Creative Space Storage and Organization

There's still shit all over the couch, but the shelves are back up and there are things organised into boxes! I can't put anything too heavy on these shelves, which is frustrating because 95% of stuff in this room is heavy. Boxes contain random stuff like my sandpaper collection, my deconstructed mi...

Re: Music Room Storage and Organization

I finally fixed some shelves in my room today that fell down eight weeks ago. And we bought a bunch of new shoes recently so I have a bunch of shoeboxes that I’m organising random art things into so that the shelves aren’t a terrifying mess of art supplies. I have another idea as well as to how I ca...

Re: Music Room Storage and Organization

My music recording area is also my printmaking and art studio, and it’s not even big enough for that alone. I’ve managed to cope by putting some hairpin legs on my big desktop so that it can sit on my plan drawers and act as a standing desk. Instead of a normal mic stand, I use one of the low ones f...

Re: Scooby Snacks for (Another Mystery Solved reviews)

miscellaneous owl : I mentioned in the prefight that I went at this song in a very roundabout way from how I usually approach writing (lead synth line first instead of vocals and/or chord progression/rhythm instrument first; and keyboard vs guitar) and I had a really hard time getting excited about...

Re: Scooby Snacks for (Another Mystery Solved reviews)

Damn, I’ve really got to start doing reviews straight away rather than thinking “I’ll listen again tomorrow and do them then”, because that strategy really isn’t working for me. I did get a lot of work done this week though, so there’s that at least.

Anyway, congrats Douche Puppy!

Re: Scooby Snacks for (Another Mystery Solved reviews)

Hot Pink Halo : Was that a "real" bird? Just like the "real" bird from our track this week? : P I like that... twinkly pad (?) bit where you're saying "different things". Bass comes through nicely. I like the backing vocal harmonies... I admit I wasn't listening to the lyrics until you said "what g...

Re: Scooby Snacks for (Another Mystery Solved reviews)

Hot Pink Halo - I was surprised when this didn't start out in 3/4 as I thought surely you'd be in on a 3/4 challenge. But then it does a section in 3/4. And the whole song is lovely. I like the repeated words. Ha! 3/4 is my natural go to, and I've done so many in it at this point that I thought I s...

So, for any of you who enjoyed my Art Bomb video, I've gone ahead and made a second video delving deeper into the different art processes I used. phDBbSS8FkE I've also decided to make this into an art challenge, so if you have any visual art people in your life, please share the video with them! I also just got a new computer so need to spend some time rearranging my desk before I take a new pic. I also need to fix the shelf that fell down six weeks ago.

I remember when REM won that Grammy for ‘Tidiest workstation’. Better days.

So I just made myself a schedule through January for shooting projects, editing and uploading. It's involved, but I think it's doable and varied enough that I won't burn myself out... :?

Okonomiyaki (or as we call it, oko-nommy-yummy) and sushi for dinner! If you want decent and/or affordable Japanese food in Ireland you need to make it yourself.

Re: New Year's Resolutions?

Lol. 2020 New Year's Resolutions! I had to stop paying myself for reading books because, strangely, my "all my eggs in one basket" source of income evaporated in 2020. I managed to earn enough from it to cover my expenses for the year (adobe subscription, fresh books accounting subscription, etc.) a...

Are you a friend of Merle, perchance? I'd like to think so. I don't know who Merle is, but I'd like to think so. I think Merle (of the Magnetic Letters) is in WA somewhere; you have a similar sense of humour if judging from lyrics is a good indicator. Your song made me laugh out loud and I loved it...
