It is interesting, very interesting... Is this microtonality?

Also I made one of these out of a damaged Laurel Canyon acoustic I got for free. :) https://www.kiteguitar.com/

Re: What doesn't kill you.... (Silver Birthday reviews)

It's wild, SongFight's just kind of one of those things that's constantly there in the background. It's easy to take for granted but sometimes having it around is just the best. Good people and just a great excuse to write something (especially for those with zero aspirations of commercial success).

Re: What doesn't kill you.... (Silver Birthday reviews)

heine : I feel like intermittently torturing your neighbors is part of the songwriter experience! Structurally this doesn’t really take a lot of risks, but that would be at odds with the sort of song it is anyway. I don’t know your history (beyond being a fellow longtime songfighter), but this song...

Phlub feat. Sweeney Toad In the first few years after Y2K I heard about a site via KOMPRESSOR with a K Where they give you a title and about 10 days I said "count me in, that's a game I wanna play" I showed it to my friends cause I thought it was cool It was my favorite thing to do way bac...

Re: ST23 Round 3 Challenge 'Listen Between the Lines'

ST23r3 Celestial Drift- Lot’s of coolness going on. Another song with a lack of melody. There sure is a lot of one note phrases. Sometimes you have to be less Tool and more Perfect Circle. I’d lock you in a room with the song “So Long and thanks for the Fish”. Let you out when you had more of a mel...

You might get better turn out if you don't run it concurrently with Spintunes.

Spintown -- kind of surprised that I wasn't familiar with that one. My son watches Minecraft stuff all the time. Or at least he did there for a few years. Now he's been on Fortnite for several fortnites.

Very torn between Helmet - Unsung and something by Burning Witch. But also maybe Leftover Crack? Augh! Or Melt-Banana? Paralysis by too many options!

Re: RIP legendary music producer Steve Albini

Heck why not just a big Bandcamp tribute album?

While we're doing top 4 Albini productions:

1) Om - God Is Good
2) Helmet - Meantime
3) Goatsnake/Burning Witch - [self titled split]
4) Nirvana - In Utero

Re: RIP legendary music producer Steve Albini

Damn, I'm still grieving Steve from Dead Meadow, writer of my favorite riffs, but now I have to add in Steve Albini, producer of some of the best albums? The album that put him on my radar was definitely In Utero. Still my favorite Nirvana album by a mile. I hadn't really looked at everything Steve ...

Re: Rest In Peace

Steve Kille, bassist and co-songwriter for Dead Meadow has died. A friend of his on /r/psychedelicrock says it was a rare form of stomach cancer. I dunno if anyone else here was a fan, but my user name is the title of one of their signature songs. And still one of the greatest riffs I've ever had t...

I could wax philosophical about AI in music and its potential pros and cons but ultimately I see a songwriting contest as an exercise in human creativity therefore I don't think AI generated musical tracks really have a place in a competitive community.
