Re: Instant Band: Song Fight Edition
My thought was that the group would make that decision rather than it be assigned, or are you suggesting it is a role in addition to the others? Even when we did this in person, someone eventually had to take the lead and get the group working together. No, but it's good to explicitly acknowledge o...

Re: Instant Band: Song Fight Edition
Having recently done Frankensong, I can say that having a 'project manager' is extremely useful . Pick someone in the group you can all agree has the authority to make quick decisions to get the song done on time without anyone's feelings getting hurt. Set up a schedule and enforce it eg: lyrics and...

Re: Music Room Storage and Organization
Also here's my messy cupboard of stuff (sorry for double post, max three images per post I think?). Badly needs sorting out, there's a bunch of stuff in here that never gets used. cupboard.jpg This is the kind of content I'm hoping for when I see this thread title. The hanging shoe organizer or wha...

Gross Tones - You’ve returned! Stick around and hang out with us, don’t be a stranger! Nah fuck these guys. They've never contributed a thing to the community - they just cropdust us their mediocre whiteguycore bullshit and push their facebook followers to spam votes. These guys are missing the poi...

Some great resources at that link. Thanks for that!Lunkhead wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 5:34 pmI've been working on a BSS album all year. Probably won't get it out in 2020 sadly. But soon! I was not that organized. For the late stage stuff I've been reading a lot of checklist type sites like this one:

Planning a full album, or how to inject excel into every part of life
I shared my project tracker in the Discord and got some cool responses. I'm very interested in what kind of planning you folks have done ahead of full album releases. https://i.imgur.com/lHlYpG8.png I don't have an order or deadlines for accomplishing any of this, though I could go full on GANTT cha...

This is past being funny. Critique of art doesn't require that one be a master artist. This all pretty plainly falls short of critique, though, and one might try to be aware of how glassy his glass house is when hurling stones at everyone else. Seriously j$ - I've been interacting with you for nearl...

This reminds me of when that journalist lady went on a super drunk twitter rampage. My man woke up this morning and chose violence.

Re: Fixing typos in the archive data
Sitting in the Life Boat displays the wrong end date as listed in the archive as well as on its song page. Unless that fight really was five weeks long.

Re: Aarararrrargh! (Screaming Into the Void reviews)
Robyn Mackenzie—I’m not completely sold on the “want it, want it” and “got it, got it”, but the rest of this is awesome. Grungy but still melodic. The variability in your vocal cadence keeps thing interesting, too. Good work. Were you any in any previous bands in New Mexico? Tbh I'm not sure I was ...

Re: Compouter monitor you use with your DAW
This 27" Dell and a cheaper 27" BenQ. Both at 2560x1440. I can't imagine working with a single screen.
I'd consider replacing the BenQ with a native 1080 27" with a 144hz or faster refresh rate, but that'd just be for gaming.

Huge Pogues fan. The trashcan crash from Waxie's Dargle certainly came into my head when doing the double stops. Maybe I'll add it at some point.

Re: Aarararrrargh! (Screaming Into the Void reviews)
I'm bummed that I ended up sitting this fight out, because if I hadn't it would have been LOADED with saxophones and it would have been fun to watch you twitch. I like what you do with your horns! Solo alto sax is just the worst sound in the world to me. I ran sound at a jazz/blues club for 3 years...

Went through the fight in the car and on my bassy bluetooth speaker. Now going through on my mix headphones. Spent about 3 hours typing these up. add : Very Doors, when Jim was doing his lounge weirdness like Touch Me . Really like it. Snare sounds great. Curious about where your drum sounds all com...

Re: Aarararrrargh! (Screaming Into the Void reviews)
PS. What’s an “O-T-H Joe”? I honestly don’t know. I put a bunch of links in the lyric thread, because I do use a fair bit of jargon in this tune. OTH = 'Other than honorable.' Servicemembers typically leave the military with an 'honorable' discharge. This is great! I am exceedingly lucky to be in t...

Re: Logic Pro X: Track Follow = LIFECHANGER
Huh, that's interesting. In Adobe Premiere, you can kind of do the same thing via nesting, but it's easy to run into problems with too many nested nests, etc. Wonder if this exists for Pro Tools, because I would 100% use this for drums at the very least. As of now, I just color code my parts, so lik...
