My car broke down Saturday night at the show in West Lebanon, NH. It's since been fixed, and I'm headed out there tonight to pick it up.
QotD: How's your vehicle these days? Okay, it's more of a 'topic of the day'. Anyway, tell us about your sweet ride!

Alanis-Ironically I was going to start DRC about my 'sweet ride' but decided to let someone else do it to come up with a better QotD. I guess I just can't escape.
I sold my car a few weeks ago, signed up for Flexcar, and ordered a folding bike which I can take on the train. Said bike is supposed to arrive today (it's actually been delivered to the shop but the shop hasn't yet told me I can pick it up). I'm looking forward to having a bit more range for those times that I want to get out but don't want to bother with Flexcar.

Hey, Lebanon, place my wife used to live. She went to Dartmouth for grad school. Where did you play? She might know the place. It's a cool area.

roll call: tired.. had a small anxiety attack that has left me exhausted. I was going to go for a bike ride after work...but I think I'm calling it off. I don't know... lemme see how I feel when I get home. The weather today is simply awesome.
qotd:
1. MR2: Working great. There is some sort of sound that sounds like scraping metal when changing gears but its not a 'bad' sound... and there is no 'feeling' to it. (sounds like sword leaving its sheath) Its been like that since I got it. It's purty as anything.
2. Town Car: Brakes are bad...probably something in the line. Need to get a new tire for the right front. It's currently on a full sized spare that I'd like to get back into the trunk. It has some problems trying to get from second gear to third gear which usually means I need to keep it rev'd up for a few seconds before giving it extra gas to jump into the next gear. Been like that since I got it though. It's a very ugly tan vehicle with scratches and a weathering bits and pieces.

QOTD: Octovan is on the blocks.
Several items that require attention:
1. Rear hatch lock came off in my hand. Estimated cost to repair: $600
2. Radiator sprung a leak near top. Estimated cost to repair: $600
3. Rear driver side wheel locked up. I haven't gotten an estimate, but I know the answer: $600
Gonna call my local charity and have them come get it. Meanwhile, since I was too busy to do that last month, I owe Mad Dog another $40 for parking...

QotD: I have a cute silver VW Jetta wagon. Holds a surprising amount of worthless stuff for family holidays. Slides around in the snow and ice. Doesn't get as good gas mileage as a Subaru, which I sort of wanted instead. But it's a great city car.

As long as it's not a Plymouth Sundance. Even Father Joe won't take those... my brother finally had to pay to have it hauled away...
My y2k Chrysler Concorde is kinda falling apart - my fault mostly, since it sits outside in the Arizona sun 24/7 and I'm notoriously bad about taking care of stuff... plus it has a couple gashes in the hood from where I backed into it with our Suburban...
Our '03 Suburban is also having problems - there doesn't seem to be any way to lock the back doors or the back hatch, something in the internal telecom bidness has come disconnected.
Yeah, I know, a Suburban. We actually do use it to haul stuff that's too big for regular cars, and to go out in the desert and stuff.

Twas a nice birthday. Simple, understated. Chinese food lunch. Dinner with the traditional birthday pie. A day full of friends, family and Trauma Center on the Wii. Not a bad start for Niv 30.

I am still at work. The annoyance of that is offset by the fact that someone in our China office just sent a message and three retractions to a list of 3197 addresses. Each message is 155KB (because of the gigantic address list). This means that this person has single-handedly used at least 2.1GB of storage space and international bandwidth while trying to hamfistedly introduce themselves as a new personnel manager.

Now Roymond, you have gotten to the heart of why I haven't actually made the call. However, I am assured that they end up selling the thing to some high school auto mechanics class for cheap, and some lucky kid ends up getting the opportunity to diagnose and fix the problem, setting him up with a good income for life. oh yeah and I didn't even get my dang bike today. The email from Performance Bicycle's distribution center was accurate that it was at the shop. It was not accurate in that it wasn't ready to be picked up yet, since my local store's builder doesn't get in until 5 PM. So it'll be there for me in the morning. No big deal.

QOTD: Toyota Carolla that we finally got back from the repairers last week. I can sit in it, and it goes, so it is fine for the purposes it is required for.
