Back to reality.

I'm working. Tonight's band practice has been cancelled, so I think I'm gonna play some World of Warcraft after the kids toddle off to bed. Or do some recording maybe. My GoM is in good shape, but I might try one of the other songs on the list. Or the new SF title, if we're that lucky.

Question Of The Day: You're in a Pro-Am drinking contest, and you get to choose your celebrity partner. Who do you take?

I call John Goodman!

drc: I think I'm coming down with something. Last night I burnt some sandalwood incense and all day today everything's smelled and tasted like sandalwood because I'm all mucousy.

qotd: Spud, of course. He can more than make up for my featherweightedness. I know he's not a celebrity, but he damn well should be.

Either that, or George W. Bush. Making 'recovering alcoholics' relapse is always funny.

I think he wanted her more for the distraction factor. Or perhaps the campiness.

She only goes batshit when she's commanda. Britney wears panties to remind her that she has to act halfway normal.

"Y'all, am I wearin panties? I am? Crap, we gotta stop and get some Doritos and Red Bull slurpees so I can feed my kids. Oh hell, where'd the little one go?"

I pick Peter O'Toole.

One hot day in a city called San Jose, a group of friends were practicing rock and roll music in a shed at Casa della Chad from Booty Chesterfield.

I'd known Spud for two or three years at this point, having met him face-to-face in Austin two years prior. In August of 2006, I was in a backyard with him, Blue, and some other cats and chicks.

"Spud," I said, "I'm throwing down the gauntlet: I challenge you to a drinking contest."

Prince that he is, Spud accepted the throwdown. Minutes later, he and Blue came around with a sixer of Blue Moon and a twelve-pack of Red Stripe. This was on top of the (I think) Heineken that was already there.

We commenced. I favored the Red Stripe. Cow Exchange was practicing, Blue and Amber's kids were running around, and after seven or eight bottles, I was falling over. Spud remained cool as a cucumber and I was humbled. It's like in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and Spud is the sharpshooter and everyone else is a bum who comes around and hears about the greatest there ever was. One day he'll be the slower on the draw, but not that day. No.. not that day.

While I appreciate the nominations, I myself would have to go with Gérard Depardieu.

Nick Nolte.

If worse can to worse, he could tell me about working on The Hulk set.

Mad Dog, hands down.

Mz. Conduct's third choice (after Nick Nolte & Robert Downey Jr.), Tommy Lee. Hmmm...

Too bad it's not an "alive or dead" celebrity choice, heh

qotd: In my heaviest days of drinking I participated in the ONE AND ONLY drinking contest I've ever been in.

I WON! ... but not really. I didn't really win... we both lost. Think about it. Nobody wins in a drinking contest if there are any real contenders.

Now, if I HAD to be in another one. I'd pick her as my partner.

Qotd: Seeing as I don't drink, I need someone to carry the team.

I would have to go with this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zA59UUo61g
