Glennivious.... I think I'd like to withdraw my "Soft and Wet" lyrics. I've got something for it, so I'll go ahead and do it (unless someone speaks up and says they were going to use them, which is totally cool and probably way better than what I have!). Thanks!

so in addition to the previously mentioned "baby" by johnny in the corner which i've already sent in (that's me and j$ for the unenlightened few out there....), i've got something going for "for you", which is moving along nicely now, at least to the point where i know i'll finish it instead of scrapping it. it's kind of funky in a princely sort of way. what it really needs is a back-up chorus of female singers.

so i'm hoping there might be a few female singers (or male singers who can sound like a female, that would work) who might want to contribute some vocals to my track for this.

if you have the time and are so inclined, shoot me a PM and i'll shoot you back a link to the track you could karaoke to. i know there are some awesome female singers here, so come on and represent!* :)

and help me out at the same time!

Don't be such a perv Roymond. What he was trying to say is that he would like to put his Jackness into Steve's brass.

In Love
My Love is Forever
I'm Yours

Of course, if you don't mind company, there's always the other titles:

For You (1 Song)
Soft and Wet (1 Song)
Crazy You" (2 Songs)
Just as Long as We're Together (2 Songs)
Baby (1 Song)
So Blue (1 Song)

One week and three days from now, the first wave of completed songs will be posted on Tuesday, December 1st on purpletapes.com Be sure to get your songs in before then!

No 'the,' either.

Actually there is one 'S'.

And anyway, it's not like the whole band was contributing like it was some sort of corporate merger event.

Phil and I will be contributing a very different song for Crazy You. We'll also try to tackle one of the songs with no entries yet if we have the time. Hooray for the long weekend! But, boo for sick kids and my soar throat. We'll see what happens!

having entirely re-written 'my love is forever' from the groin up, I will definitely be entering a song, but it's going to be close to the deadline.

To make up for this relative tardiness, I am in the process of writing lyrics for every song on 'Prince', which I will offer to the pot shortly. At least that's something I can do at work instead of my job :)

EDIT: Updated info below.

Done:
Baby

Songs written, but need to record:
Crazy You (uses two different tempos)
In Love (this one has a swing/big band/lounge feel, at least, the best I can do to my guitar work!)
Just as Long As We're Together (w/ Sp@@ns)
My Love Is Forever (pretty standard, really)
Soft and Wet (dirty sexual language, spoken/restrained)
I'm Yours
For You

Still need to write:
So Blue

Anyone wanna work on anything, or just wanna hear where I'm at, PM me.

Well, Phil and I finished the vocals for 'Crazy You'. It took forever and you'll see why when the songs are posted. It still needs to be mixed so it hasn't been sent yet, but we'll have it in before the deadline.

I guess we won't have time to do one of the songs that hasn't been done yet. Oh well, one song is enough, right?

Just want to butt in and say that I love this whole idea and hope to get some stuff in for future albums. "My Love Is Forever" is an appealing title, but not do-able at this time. Looking forward to hearing the goodies, though.

For those playing keep score, I have just finished sending my fifth song. So for sausage boy entries we are looking at;

For You
Soft And Wet
Crazy You
Just As Long As We're Together
So Blue

I'd like to go the distance and do the remaining songs, but we will see. I don't know if my psyche could take much more.

Hey, i had an idea which I am sure you already have in the bag. But in case not - for your voting (which I heartily disapprove of but am tacitly supporting by partaking anyway :D ) you could have the top three winners of each vote on your myspace jukebox, with the winner being the automatic play. That way, you get to promote the idea with the most popular (and therefore theoretically the most instantly appealing to a newtime listener) songs, and also give a little incentive to those who unlike me care about such things/have an a-game to bring.

I suppose given the Purple Microdot's attitude, you might want to check its ok with winners first... Ah, I bet you had this planned all along, it seems too obvious now I type it not to only have occured to me just now ... there's probably a post in this thread about it, in fact. That will teach me not to check!
