Wow, you guys did this just for me? And enlisted two fellows notable enough to be mentioned on the Nerdcore Hip Hop article on Wikipedia? What a fine day, indeed.
Jeez, do I sure look like an idiot there. I wrote 'so you know' twice in a row, there, and didn't even punctuate consistently. I suppose they're intended to be read differently. Shit if I know, though. Just so you know, (eh, Glenn?), I talk like that too. My brain never wants to form coherent thoughts in a steady stream. Stupid piece of crap.
Anyway, I've just downloaded this. Initial listening is...um, wow. Definitely making a copy of this for the car today. This is like...ready to go for the radio. Great job, fellows.

I love the album!
Just one question...why does Beefy announce who he is on every song?

While I don't know an exact answer to your question, I do like to imagine that he's doing it in the tradition of old school hip hop.Niveous wrote:Just one question...why does Beefy announce who he is on every song?
Great example: Have you ever heard how many times Kid 'n Play used to mention their names in most of their tracks? I started to notice it on "Toe to Toe" especially. I loved the beat, but after a while you start to notice that they're saying who they are a LOT.
ROCK!

It's not a self-extractor. Grab a trial version of WinRar and you should be golden.Generic wrote:It won't let me extract the .rar.
You can also hear 6 of the 7 songs on the Grammar Club's Myspace page.
EDIT: I also uploaded the songs to my server when I heard that other people were also having issues with the rar. Go here for direct mp3 links if you prefer.

Okay, I started on "Alternate Ending," because someone on the forum compared it to the Beatles. Then I started from the beginning. I'm near the end of "Bank Holiday" right now, and I'm really digging all this. It's reminding me of Brother Machine in the best ways. And Gnarls Barkley at some points. And Beefy is channeling Del in some spots. Wow.
Did you get this mastered professionally?

Well, hats off to him! Wonderful EP, and I'm looking forward to hearing more. It clearly the work of a group of people who are very inspired, and very excited to be working together.GlennCase wrote:If by "professionally" you mean "Did Adam mix and master everything", then Yes!Generic wrote:Did you get this mastered professionally?

Kinda funny how it has this beautiful summery feel to it, even though the Winter is just starting to get really bad here. I hope I remember to bring this back out and blast it out my window after the snow melts.

Hey Glenn, you probably ought to know and relay to your Grammar Club mates that for some reason my Windows Media Player wanted to classify this album as by "Ricky Henry." After importing it, I had to search like hell to find out where WMP had put it! I don't know why this is, either, because the ID3 tags say "The Grammar Club." Looks like your webmaster has got some 'splaining to do...

to answer the "why does beefy always announce who he is?" question, I think it's best to quote the Wordbugler
"Wordberg, say my name a lot when I rap/ And I could give a crap if you got a problem with that"
But seriously, I have no clue why I do it. Every rapper I listened to did it all the time and it's just a bad habit. Just be happy I don't spell out my name like all my favorite rappers have.

I had no problem with the fact that you do it, I had just made the observation.

You know how bands break up because of creative differences? It sounds cliche', but it's a description that absolutely fits the reason why I am choosing to leave the Grammar Club.
It's nothing personal against any member of the project. In fact, I hope they will find a better multi-instrumentalist that can lead them to greater success than they have achieved with me. Think of how the Gorillaz switched from Dan the Automator to Danger Mouse. I would love to see them evolve in a similar manner.
As far as I know there should be no hard feelings involved. It's just time for me to move on.
ROCK!

I dunno about you, but where I come from 'creative differences' is usually a euphemism for 'no longer able to stand the sight of each other' :)GlennCase wrote:You know how bands break up because of creative differences?
