I have a taxi scheduled for after work at 6:00pm to catch a plane at 7:50pm and we're two blocks north of the runway. Depart TPA and arrive @ ATL.

Gonna take public transportation out to my brother's house in Smyrna. (Where we will consume much alcohol)

Then tomorrow our folks will drive down and pick us up and take us up to the mountainous dirt roads to their log cabin in the woods. (LITERALLY, that is all very LITERAL)

Saturday is my Dad's Birthday and Sunday some family in North Carolina are coming down to visit us in Georgia. We plan on having a big mediterranean / Lebanese dinner.

Monday of course is New Years Eve and I may wiggle my way back down to Atlanta for that. JB kinda has plans already and I'm not sure I want to crash them. (although, for the record he told me I could - nice guy that he is)

I fly back home to Tampa on New Years Day but not until 7pm'ish. (all day to recover)

qotd: Where was the last place you went? (Difficulty: NOT locally, nobody wants to hear about your emergency trip to the grocery store for Tums)

My last trip was up to Seattle for Thanksgiving. My next one is to Las Vegas for CES in two weeks.

Work is very boring today. My smallest task is at least two days' worth and I won't have at least two consecutive days of work until next week. So I'm basically slacking off, just like on Monday.

QOTD: My last trip was up to the mountain for some snowboarding a few weeks ago. Mostly man made snow in our local mountains, but I alway go for the official grand opening for the season. I'll be heading back up next week for a couple days, after things get back to running smooth again after the holidays. It's starting to get pretty cold in the mountains, so they are getting some good snow.

DRC: Really starting to panic about finishing my second Purple Reign song. I can't record anything because of my ForeBox not being recognized by my computer. Working on getting that fixed.

Have a safe trip Hobz

At home with the kids - we saw "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium Today" not very good, not as bad as the critics said, my 7-year-old loved it!

Playing lts of Wii (got one for x-mas).

QOTD: FOr x-mas I was at my parents in Thousand Oaks, two days before that I was at my in-laws in La Quinta (near Palm Springs) also for x-mas. Golf fans might enjoy the trivia that my in-laws live at Trilogy in La Quinta. This is where the Skins Game was played from 2004 - 2006. Hole 7 is in their back yard.

Last place I went was Woodford. I have just got back from the Woodford Folk Festival - which, considering it consisted of spending a whole day wandering around knee-deep in mud surrounded by 20,000 dirty, smelly hippies - was really a pretty good day out.

But Woodford is only 2 hours from Brizzy - so it doesn't really count. My last interstate trip was to Yamba, NSW in October, my last flight was to Newcastle, NSW in August and last OS trip was to Santa Cruz for SFLive06 (though I will probably be going to New Zealand in a few weeks)

My last trip was to Albuquerque a few months ago. I can't see much coming up but I hope to make it to a SongFight! live event this year, although I can't attend the NYC one despite it being only 4-5 hours away.

Today I'm doing some collaboration work then hopefully will check out the new fights that are up. And making turkey soup.

QotD: Haven't made too many interesting trips lately, other than driving out to shows. I went to Canada over the summer on a day trip, I guess. I'll be going to NYC in January though. :D

Paco: If it's a ride you need, lemme know. Maybe we can work something out.

Hey Jim, thanks. I'd be glad to share driving duties and cost any time it works for both of us. It's a timing issue, primarily, but I'd like to go just to be in the audience, if I could. I loved Roymonds' SF Vermont idea and others you have suggested as well. One day there will be a Public Paco, I promise! (or threaten!) :)

I'm starting to think that Paco Del Stinko is a fictitious bot created by computer aliens to change the direction of music over the next 50 years. Image

Glenny even said that he thought he saw Paco flicker on and off once when he hit a power chord, but he just figured it was from the herb supplements he was taking for his glaucoma.

I think that I'm the one much more likely to be taking the herb suppliments. :)

SF! fantasy: The door to a backyard pool area opens and standing, backlit in the evening mist, is a tall, less than handsome man holding a guitar. "Stinko" he says, "Paco del Stinko". After a pause, a man hug ensues containing much loud back-slapping. Grunts of "bro" can be heard above the fervent palmage. Beers open, bongs shglurgle, and merry is made until the sun rises on the western sea. Sigh....

....the smell of sweat, old spice and lady speed stick, lofting through the air as horribly dry humor is ejaculated like knuckle children on a mission from God. All involved laughing with hysteria at the extremely dramatic hand and arms flailing that gives life to the descriptive imagery of the stories told. Then all of a sudden, all sounds stop with heads tilted as if E.F. Hutton had just spoken, only to take in the exuberant chunky sound of the most amazing passing of gas for the evening, thus far. Like a light switch had been flipped, the loud over exaggerated laughing ensues. Sigh...

HaHa, shglurgle? Brilliant! You're a regular Dr. Del Seuss.
I'd watch this movie.....if it was for rent at Blockbuster.

qotd: yesterday, my friend chris and i did a road trip to donner summit, near lake tahoe, about a 4 hour drive. we snowboarded for about 5 hours, then turned around and drove home.

last run of the day i got lazy and caught the wrong edge going pretty fast, making for an entertaining cartwheel on hardpack snow.

i think i might have cracked a rib.

At least you know why your rib is cracked. I think I've just been coughing too much.

Yeah, cracked rib seems to be going around right now. Is it, "feed a cold, starve a rib"? :?

Jack, there are no wrong edges on a snowboard, just wrong shaped mountains. :P

By the way, Donner Pass is where those dumb pioneers tried to go through in the middle of winter and froze to death....or something like that.

Then they are dirty, stinking, cannibalistic LIARS. I recall no ill-fated 19th century American pioneers in home-made Santa suits wandering the beachside suburbs of Merewether or Cooks Hill pissed out of their heads singing Christmas carols in the mid 1980s.
