last day of the year usually means a good day to gig for a musician. i'm packing up a bunch of shit to play at a new years eve party some friends are having. i know jimT mentioned his gig tomorrow night, so the final question of the day for this year is.......

where are you playing tonight? (insert gig plug here)

for me, it's belmont, california. if you're in the hood, you're invited.

if you're not playing a gig, have a safe and happy new years eve. don't drink and drive!

see you next year!

QOTD: This gives me the idea to have the boys over for a jam session. I will see what I can do. A songfight entry usually ensues. If we drink enough...

Friend's dance party is a block away. Sure the kids will all be strewn across the floor downstairs by 11. Or maybe the adults will be and the kids tucking hay under our limbs and dancing around with torches.

Happy New Year folks :)

Roll Call: Back at work, at least for the day. I have tomorrow off, which is a good thing. I've been on the road for a while, and tonight I'm off to--

QotD: Shooter's Tavern in Belmont, NH. I'm playing a solo show from 8pm to sometime after midnight. They're having a raffle for Patriots playoff tickets.

Battle of the Belmonts! Sounds like a 1950's dance contest. I'm in tonight for an up early tomorrow. Happy new year, everybody!

QOTD: We played a day party at a farm. It was a blast, about 150-200 people came. Huge BBQ, kegs and music. My friends family owns the farm and he has a big bash every year. He's a drum teacher and his studio is in the barn. He has his students bands play. Some of them are pretty damn good. Several old punk and alt bands, mostly guys I've know for years. I sat in on drums for one of them, because their drummer drank to much and was puking his guts out, lol. Then another guy I know that plays bass, dropped a glass, and was bent over picking it up, and slipped and fell hands first on the shards of glass. He went and got stitched up, but he couldn't play, so I filled in. Fortunately they play all covers of Social D, so I had a great time. It's still going on, but I had to duck out to finish mixing our Purple Reign entry and get it sent in. But I'm not going back, I'm too damn tired now.

Happy New Year everyone! Image
