No excuses here. I had a version of my song done pretty early, and actually got to spend a couple weeks listening and tweaking it. I don't know that the extra time made a huge difference, but it was a neat luxury anyway.

I was figuring this year GOM would be like Festivus. On 1/9 we would having the airing of excuses.

Mine's going to be late. I offer no excuses. Sorry, giftee. I will get it done, though, probably this weekend.

I may or may not be on time. No excuses. I totally fubared last night, all I did was record a crappy drum take that'll likely get junked.

Did we ever get an exact deadline? I'd like to know how much time, if any, I'll have on the 10th.

Mine just needs vox and I'm done. I would have liked the luxury that Jim had, to listen and tweak it. But my procrastinating mind never considered technical issues. But I have been singing to my instrumental, while driving, so I have a pretty good feel for it.
I'll be in on time.

Yes, what time is it due? If I don't hear, I'm assuming midnight. And then I'm assuming Pacific Time.

Our giftee will receive a gift + bonus gift with purchase, on time!

Our giftee may also receive an additional bonus bonus gift if time allows, but this gift++ may be slightly late.

So that's midnight at the end of the 10th, right?

FREE TO GOOD HOME, if you contact me today! I will be home at lunchtime (noon CST), and after 6 p.m. this evening, tomorrow morning before 8 a.m., tomorrow at lunchtime, and possibly tomorrow evening, so there are up to five times I could record vocals for someone. If you want me to, send me a link to the original song, a link to your version without the vocals, if it is dramatically different, a link to your version with the vocals, the lyrics (obviously, I will not have time to transcribe them myself!), and any special instructions. If you need to e-mail me files, private message me, and I will give you my e-mail address.

An event of considerable magnitude has occurred during my latest recording session. Ugh. I don't know I'm going to get the song out with the lost day but I'm gonna try.

So Close!

Just need to check the mix on something other than headphones tomorrow, then tweak if necessary. I find that know ing exactly who I'm doing this for makes me want to make sure it's that much more careful.

I took the day off to get mine finished. Very different for me, but I really like it. Such a comfortable path that this song has lead me down, up and through. I feel enlightened by the experience. I can't help but wonder if this was a sign of some sort. I can honestly see myself going in this direction. I hope my giftee enjoys it as much as I did recording it and giving it.

There is a strong possibility that I won't finish today. I am not going to sell my giftee short by turning in a half-baked effort. Apologies to those who have worked hard. I have too. Just haven't finished yet.
