I was going to record Rachael's vocals tonight, and put some finishing touches on her mix, but my 6 hour shift just became a 13 hour shift. Hers will be late.

My entry will not be late, despite the terrible high note that I won't have time to fix. I will probably tweak it a little after the deadline, but I refuse to have my giftee going without.

Is a one week extension out of the question? I hate to even ask, but maybe it will help some of the people that are having issues like me.

ROCK!

Eddie has already agreed to post any latecomers, but since most people seem to be adhering to the deadline and apparently there are prizes involved (please be a jet-ski...please be a jet-ski...please be a jet-ski), it seems unfair to grant an extension at this point. Plus, I want my song!

Methinks it is time for you to give Rachel access and lessons as to how to use your recording setup on her lonesome -- if for no other reason than that we may get to hear more of her lovely voice on a more regular basis!

OK, mine is sent in at...*looks at wrist where a watch traditionally should be, but isn't on me because I don't wear one* about 6 "O" 12 pm on this beautiful Thursday evening.

Just to make sure, email addresses aren't case sensitive, are they? I sent mine to gom@soultreerecords.com
It was in all caps on the first post of this thread.

Today has definitely been a learning experience.

I got my song done. I feel it could be better but it's a start of new things for me. Having the laptop has changed things and hopefully with more work at it, soon I'll be able to have some good recordings. It's a step in the right direction. But I also realize that I have some shortcomings. And with some help and some work I can get past them. Here's to the future.

Big ole BLT hug! These three things are your happiness and that makes your Family happy, and that makes me smile. I'm not very worldly, but anything I can do to help, let me know.

Okay, my entry is in and a whole hour and a quarter early or something like that. I really like the original song I picked, but I'm not sure I did it justice.

At this point it looks like I will be late. I need to record one last bit and then get back to working out the final arrangement and mix. I'm hoping to have something in a few hours, so I'll try to send it off in the morning.

Late with no reasonable excuse. Weekend's looking good. We'll see. Maybe I'll do two songs to make it up to my giftee.

Of all the times to have issues with your e-mail server...holy crap. So okay. I think it's in.

This is a nice, reasonable position that I will also use for myself, if that's alright. There are many ways I might re-tool mine, depending on how exactly the giftee thinks that it falls short of enjoyable. I will probably also get another one of their choices done within a week or two. It should come out better, actually. I didn't seem to realize until it was too late that I'd picked a song written explicitly for a tenor voice. Whoops.

Alright then. This has been...stressful. I'm really looking forward to hearing what someone cooked up for me. But considering all these posts, I'm not too optimistic that it will actually be done on time. Seems like it could easily go either way.

Are you serious? There's nothing in my inbox.

If I'm dq'd for being two minutes late, I'm going to make a snap decision to do something completely irrational that I will deeply regret later.

Doesn't it seem the least bit draconian and ridiculous to not allow something within two minutes of the deadline when the scope of the event was months? Especially when it was because I had to move the file manually to a different computer after several failed attempts to e-mail it from the studio.

I hope you're making this up. But if it was a joke, I don't get it.
