Nothing really to report, just noticed the new day wasn't up yet. Now I have to come up with a QOTD....
Not long for FAWM, though.
Question of the Day: Who, or what, is your favourite robot (be it fictional or non-fictional)?

The B9 - and for $24,500 you too can have a full size replica! I think one of these belong in Spud's new house.

Roymond nailed it, and that replica is fantastic. It's funny that I was just watching Forbidden Planet last night, which introduces the very famous Robby the Robot, and it made me think of the Lost In Space one. I think the two robots may have met in an episode of Space, as Robby was whored around a bit. But can either of them do the Robot? I don't think so.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Philosophically-speaking, is the Terminator actually a cyborg? I always got the impression that the biological parts were basically just window dressing and that their function didn't rely on them (if you remove all their fleshy bits the only thing they can no longer do is travel through time, and that's a not-particularly-well-explained limitation of the time travel tech).
Also, in the new TV series it's already been explained how the Terminators retroactively/paradoxically bootstrapped the addition of the fleshy bits, and the resulting mess is at best a symbiosis. (Okay, I guess that's a six-vs-half-dozen distinction to draw.)
Bender, on the other hand, has a human heart. Not that it's a part of him or anything, he just likes to collect stuff.

Yeah, M and I have been watching the new Terminator show, but she hasn't seen any of the movies, so I had to explain the story so far... when I got to that point I was like, uhhh, well, those parts all go together even though it's not really part of them, and, uh.... hey! let's watch the show!fluffy wrote:(if you remove all their fleshy bits the only thing they can no longer do is travel through time, and that's a not-particularly-well-explained limitation of the time travel tech).
