Help me do something goofy

Post by Niveous »

Hey everyone,

On Thursday, I have to do a Powerpoint presentation teaching people how to do....Powerpoint. It's like a coffee table book on coffee tables.

So, I plan to start with an animation, sound and video filled extravaganza that I'm calling "Captain Powerpoint". (If I have to do this, I'm doing down in flames with as much camp as humanly possible).

Something this awful needs a theme song. Can someone help me whip one up?

I have a coffee table book on my coffee table. Sorry I can't help you with Power Point but I just had to point this out.

Sorry...a coffee table book about coffee tables. (New Yorkers can sometimes use "on" and "about" interchangably)

I don't need help with Powerpoint. Years of working at my college has taught me the wonders of Powerpoint, so much so that I can teach how to do it. I just need help making a theme song with just the right amount of camp.

And my post was supposed to read to the effect of having a book about coffee on my coffee table... so I think we really gave it all we got in trying to confuse each other by accident.

Make sense? NO? of course it doesn't... I don't think it's supposed to. Thanks for the clarification!

I wasn't at the top of my vocal range, but it still surprises me that somebody could sing an octave higher...

Niv, I may or may not get around to doing a better version tomorrow morning; just found out the heater at my mom's house is not working (which isn't so bad here in Arizona as it would be elsewhere, but is still a problem), so I may be dealing with that tomorrow morning... so, umm, take whatever you like and it's yours to use. We would, of course, like to see the final animated and illustrated Captain PowerPoint in action :-)

Anyway... glad you liked it!

OMG, yes, I have my copy of Tufte's paper right here with me! I force it on my consultant colleagues and demand that they read it.

NICE...

Someone else should pick this up, and keep adding more embellishments.
And post it here.

KA, that's some funny stuff you banged out there.

Roy, that photo is an awesome endorsement for Dr. Tufte's work! You should send it to him!

Ok, I had to stop by the house to wait for the cable guy, so I plucked out some bass for CPP. Didn't have a beat to keep my time, but KA has pretty impeccable timing. Not sure if it makes it better or not, but here goes.

What you should do is make your powerpoint suck. Make a bunch of mistakes and mislead the people about how to use powerpoint. Make it look really hard. 8)
