Remember back in the day when I posted in this thread:
I am about to learn more about failing with my submission (under a different pseudonym) for Ease Up On The Drugs, submitted a few moments ago.sometimes I submit songs that I truly believe suck in every way, and yet I submit them anyway because I need to learn that it's okay to fail

Ease Up On The Drugs
I'm new here (we're happy for you).
It looks like a lot of people say "I'm in for xxxx song" here.
So, to categorically deny my incompetence:
I sent in an entry for "Ease Up On The Drugs" last week.
When my incompetence is later proven with cotton swabs containing my DNA, you can still hear the song here on FAWM:

Well... I probably will... unless you do have a good song, then I'll probably not.

What Spud just said. (Minus the bandmate getting married part.)Spud wrote:The consecutive entry goal had benefits for us, while we were doing it. It kept us recording. Good or bad, we put something down every week and sent it in. Some (some would say most) were crap. However, we did get better. Once we stopped after 26 weeks because our lyricists was getting married (in hindsight, what a stupid reason to stop), we have never gotten back into it with the same level of commitment. Everyone has a different reason for submitting to SongFight!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about why to submit crap. I do think several of you misunderstood the most basic gist of my question. I did not meant those who tried their best but failed (done that), or those that rushed recording so that the production or arrangement was poor (done that), or those who tried hard and knew others would think their song was crap (done that). I was talking about the small percent of posters who appear to occasionaly not really try and just fart into a mic and loop it or whatever, just for the sake of posting something.
Perhaps there are less of them than I thought.
Anyway - thanks for entertaining the question. I enjoyed reading all of the responses.
