Happy Leap Year Day! My brother was born on this date in 1972, making this his... eighth birthday. Happy birthday Dan, wherever you are*!

QotD: Got any projects planned for March? With FAWM and RPM coming to a close, what's on tap for you for next month?

I've got two that are kind of related. First, I'm working my ass off at the day job and playing shows. Second, I'm paying down as much debt as I can this month. The goal is to have just the mortgage and the home equity loan left, and then to kill the home equity loan by the end of the summer. Then we might be able to actually (gasp!) save some money.

*I know where he is really, he's in Leavenworth, WA. But he's a hard guy to reach. Hopefully I get to talk to him today. :)

so I exaggerate but thats what if FEELS like.

qotd: nothing planned...working on a protest song that the former drummer of my band Ghost Town Gridlock wrote lyrics for. All angsty.

Konnichiwa Songfighters,

DRC: It's another workday but I'm looking forward to the weekend. I got a new drum machine and I can't figure this thing out for the life of me yet. So this weekend will include lots of attempts. Plus, my sister is coming over for a visit which ought to be a blast.

QotD:
* Niveous Top 200 Songfight Songs of 2008 (I'm only missing 56 quotes so it should be done quickly)
* A new EP featuring the guitar work I collected (see FAWM thread)
* A new album featuring me doing vox, guitar, bass and drums. That oughta interesting.
* A revamped Purple Reign
* The Other Night I Dreamt of Knives (Season 2)
* a lot of work on my novel Septemberian.

I'm busy. always.

QotD: Hmm, lets see. I've got a public speaking talk (30 minutes) on the 23rd or so, so I'll probably be rehearsing that quite a bit. I borrowed a microphone from a friend of mine to get a little better quality on my vocals, so I may go through some of my old SongFight projects (have all my sessions stlil saved) and try to redo some of the vocals/instrumentations to clean them up.

I've also been putting off an Acoustic EP and a Acoustic-Full Band Full length I've been wanting to do for awhile. I've got all the songs written for both of them, I just don't have the equipment (or refined practicing) to get them recorded. Maybe I'll get around to starting on that again.

DRC: Work is kicking off with a bang here in Cali. I hope it continues through the year. It has been a concern hearing that 08 will be rough and no improvement until early 09. I'm happy to see that doesn't seem to be the case.

QOTD: Nothing off the beaten path, yet. Work will prevent me from taking on anything too ambitious.

QOTD - I hope to get as many Songfight! titles done as I can in March, and am making it my musical priority. I'm also caught up and want to attempt some Purple Reign, so I'm interested in the revamping Niveous mentioned. I also plan on giving everyone's FAWM a listen, it's a lot. Sheesh!

Not Forgotten List:
- The two remaining Total Request songs to cover, if I want to be anal. (They were requested in '06)
- Songs to Tiny Paws Of Fury titles. A double album!

Jamming with the guys tomorrow, it's been a couple of months and I fully expect to have my head crushed and my bones seperated. ROCK!
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

QOTD: Getting ready for the tour.

First practice was last night, and it went well. We have a defector from the Pathetic Wannabees (Elvis) on guitar, and he moves over to bass when I've got something else to do, like horn or accordian. Nice. He showed up at practice with our songs pretty much under his belt. Too bad he can only play Seattle. We'll be looking for help elsewhere.

Also gotta dig out those CDs for the merch table (don't know where I put them in the move), come up with a poster for the show and work on some other local publicity (at least for local promotion, since they expect us to bring some people out).

QOTD:
-GOM ( i have not forgotten, and I’ll finish it no matter what)
-Music Video
-Taxes !!
-Start planning for the possibility of taking off for 5 months and HIKING the PCT again this coming April.

After finishing a concept album for the RPM challenge, I am all music-out at the moment.
No more, sad depressing lyrics, off beat guitar strumming, whining vocals, VST plug-in overload, random drumming, and off-key signing. Well, at least for a while.

DRC: Well, I didn't get my At the Arcade song done last night. I have the music done but no vox at all. I've been playing ALOT of Rock Band the last week and that pretty such sucks up all my freetime.

QotD: I'm really hopeing to get alot more songs done in March than I did in Feb (2, 1 SF and 1 non-SF). And my b-day is the 22nd of March so that's something too I guess.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

Fluf, I'm finally uploading the one I did for "for you". It's kind of an acid trip vid, lol. I made it 100% out of pics and gifs that I got from google, then used FX on them. I typed in a line or a couple words from a verse, then hit images. I saved a crap load of stuff, then went to the next verse, etc. Kind of cool in an old school looking way.

Helped my mate move into his new house today. Picking up couches, fridges, moving them into rooms. Glad I sit at a computer all day, normally.

QOTD: Good question. Theres a batch of songs j$ and I have been working on that might come out in March. Who knows, its been in progress for over a year now. It might become Songfights Chinese Democracy.

I was talking to Gerard, a guy who played guitar on a couple of older sausage boy songs, today. I gave him a copy of the newer album, and he seemed keen to play guitar in a sausage boy 'live experience'. I can see only dismal failure on the horizon.

Yup, should be finished this week, though. I have said that before, but i took a week off work especially to do it. i can't guarantee much, except it will be better than Chinese f**kin' Democracy could ever turn out.

I can believe that. Somehow I think Chinese Democracy will lack references to satchel bombs, pedophilia, necrophilia, plagarism, multiple affairs, cum, Chuck Norris, sound taped off the radio and random aweful screaming.
