where's my sweat-and-blood, I mean, song?
I know it's not because it was late. The quality may have been a factor. But where the hell is my song? I'd hate to think I spent a week on this thing for ))shudder(( personal satisfaction!

You know, entering songfight may just be too confusing for some people.ssrebellion wrote:is it just me or did Killer Whales and Sherman Way enter the same song for At the Arcade?
They sent a total of three files, as far as I can tell (who knows, there may be more):
1. The Killer Whales.mp3
2. At The Arcade.mp3
3. shermanway_ata.mp3
The first one came from one email address (matt), while numbers two and three came from a different email address (danny). I checked the file size of danny's two entries (the same), and assumed that he had realized his file name error and sent it again. Since he used a totally different band name, I had no reason to compare matt's file to danny's. Besides, if I had, I see that matt's is two seconds longer anyway, so I wouldn't have caught it without listening.
People. Engage brains. Now. Do you really think I want a folder full of files called At The Arcade.mp3 (theirs wasn't the only one)?

Is that tone really necessary? So it's missing. Shit happens. So lighten up, dude. It was absent from the playlist for a whole 3 hours. You want your money back or something?Jerry wrote:I know it's not because it was late. The quality may have been a factor. But where the hell is my song? What band are you in Jerry? The Killer Whales or Sherman Way? What the heck is going on here? I can't decipher who's who out of any of this. But shermanway_ata.mp3 shouldn't be that tough to do. Or thekillerwhales_ata.mp3 with the subject line of the email "At the Arcade" and all the email says is "The Killer Whales". Even better, change your name in your email so the email actually comes from your band.
No wonder A&R reps throw out half of the shit they get shoveled. It's like lesson 101 of being a musician and sending your songs somewhere, anywhere, to get heard: Make it clear who you are, how to get in touch with you, and if there are any submission guidelines, follow them to a T and then some. But these "eccentric musicians" just can't get it right. Story of a life. No wonder having a manager is usually a requirement, not a suggestion.........

None of the above. I'm chonny. I followed protocal to a 'T'. My little song wasn't posted initially. I posted here a light-hearted, though pointed, query about where it might be. I even included a self-effacing remark about my song. Said post was misinterpreted as rude. I didn't mean to offend. As a newby to this site, I often see 'have a sense of humour' as a suggestion for songfight survival. Humour doesn't always translate well in the digital realm, I guess.
