MIDI VSTi issues

Post by HeuristicsInc »

Hi, not sure if anyone here really has experience with my sort of problem, but figured it was worth asking.
Here's what I'm doing:
Have project in Acid with some already-recorded tracks.
Have VSTi running in Acid (Reaktor 5) with an ensemble loaded to make sounds.
Have external MIDI keyboard plugged in to drive the Reaktor.

This works, but I get a LOT of stuck notes, and missed notes when I play. If I record the MIDI notes using Acid, I get a track of MIDI, and when I replay using that track instead of live playing, it's ok. No stuck notes, no missed notes. Any idea how to fix this? It keeps throwing me off, especially the stucks...
Haven't found anything useful yet via Acid or Reaktor help.
thanks.

So far, I think it's only Reaktor but I don't do that much with softsynths yet.
Oh, and if I run Reaktor standalone it plays perfectly.
I should check the version I'm using.

i wouldn't be surprised if that version of Acid just has bad midi support.. you could try the reaper demo or something, and try to isolate it as a host problem

I wouldn't be surprised either... I tried the most recent upgrades for both Acid and Reaktor and got no better results.
Oh, Reaper is the same people as Ninjam? Yeah, I'll try that tonight.
