God's Thumb - By MC Eric B
=======================
You feel just like starting over
those walls they keep closing in
you look around for a new way
but don't know where to begin
These are the times
a special place
falling and falling
deep into his grace
Chorus
=====================
Come on and raise your hands up
reach out and feel the love
have faith in the lord above
ohhh, can you feel his love
=====================
Don't ever give up on when your hurting
they'll be good times after the bad
look out at the world before you
see the beauty in all that you've had
Put yourself in the hands of the savior
move on out from under his thumb
rest your heart in the hands of your savior
and at one with yourself you'll become
These are the times
finding your place
falling and falling
deep into his grace
Chorus
=====================
Come on and raise your hands up
reach out and feel the love
have faith in the lord above
ohhh, just feel his love
You gotta raise your hands up
dance now and feel the love
have faith in what's above
ohhh, can you feel the love
Come on, and feel the love
you gotta gotta feel the love
have faith in the Lord above
ohhh, feel the love

Re: God's Thumb
I knew a man, a hitchhiker, who had the thumb of God
No matter where he went, he always had a ride.
The poor and needy or the rich, popular or Joe,
The sloppy or the well-dignified.
He found his calling traveling the nation’s open road
He had a home but he was never there
The place he loved to be was out riding concrete waves
And taking in all sorts of country air.
He didn’t have a car or truck and didn’t care to rent
Cause every time he stepped outside, he could always find a friend…
Oh Mr. Hitchhiker, you play by your own rules
With a friendly face and smile, you put your host’s minds at ease
You always say thank you and please, you live your life free as a breeze…
Oh Mr. Hitchhiker, your God’s thumb is your ticket as you please.
In his duffel bag was always everything he’d ever need
His clothes were fresh and his face was cleanly shaved.
He always had a little he could give to compensate
And he always made sure he was well-behaved.
He saw the mighty mountains and the plains of the Midwest
He followed all the rivers of the south
He viewed the simple country life and spied the countryside
And tasted crystal water with his mouth
It wasn’t that he had to, was forced to cause he lacked
He just wanted to have seen and not regretted looking back.
Oh Mr. Hitchhiker, you play by your own rules
With a pleasant face and nod, you show the drivers that you care
You never look hard, gawk or stare, and you’re always treated fair…
Oh Mr. Hitchhiker, your God’s thumb will take you anywhere.
Through Summer times, you spent your nights out underneath the moon
The starry nights would take your breath away
When Winter came, you headed home and stayed most in your room
And visited the outside through the memories you saved.
Oh Mr. Hitchhiker, you play by your own rules
With a longing and a plan you’re off from sea to shining sea
You’re as happy as can be, cause after all, you’re flying free
Oh Mr. Hitchhiker, your God’s thumb is everything you need.

God's Thumb - Dean Sky
Oh I don't recall
The place and time
The days and nights
All intertwined
She's the one
She's the master of the Stratocaster
She's the one
Caprica, state of the art
More than just the sum
Of her cybernetic parts
Picking with
With the perfect painted pinkish nail
Of her paranormal thumb
Cool seductive Cylons
So bizzare
At the Holodeck bar
Oh I don't recall

The days and nights
All intertwined

God's Thumb
Well, I feel God's thumb pushing down on me.
But girl, you make me think that I could break free from this gravity.
Well, now I feel your thumb pushing down on me.
It makes me think about how I could break free from your gravity.
Gravity.

God's Thumb
By Steve Durand
I believe that when we die
We only turn to dust
And the reason to be moral is
It's simply good for us
I think that it's the medicine
Not prayer that makes you well
And our sense of purpose
Comes from within ourselves
But many folks believe
That there exists a cosmic lord
Who'll dispense eternal punishment
Or infinite reward
And it's better to believe in him
As Blaise Pascal would say
Just in case you get to meet him
Face to face on judgement day
Which way will God's thumb turn
When you stand before the throne
By then it may be far too late
For someone to atone
Will he raise you up to paradise
Or cast you down to burn
Do you know which way God's thumb will turn
There's some things to consider though
Before you place that bet
Or you could make a decision
That you're likely to regret
You're making an assumption
About which belief is true
And you shouldn't let it bias
Which direction you pursue
There's thousands of religions
Men have followed for so long
You know that they can't all be right
But they could all be wrong
So before you find yourself
Hoist on your own petard
What do you think will happen
If you've chosen the wrong god
Which way will God's thumb turn
When you stand before the throne
By then it may be far too late
For someone to atone
Will he raise you up to paradise
Or cast you down to burn
How do you know which way God's thumb will turn

God's Thumb - Paco del Stinko
One day long ago
When she was young
Poor poor little girl
She saw God's thumb
Oh she kneeled down to pray
But God wouldn't go away
Told she would be safe
Come to no harm
Then came the cold embrace
Of God's arm
Oh she kneeled down to pray
But God wouldn't go away
No words could escape-from her throat
For the love of God-made her choke
Guilt and fear-year after year
When she cried for help-noone would hear
Many years went past
God in her head
Until the shotgun blast
Shot God dead
Oh she kneeled down to pray
And she sent God away
One day long ago
When she was young
Poor poor little girl
She saw God's thumb
Oh she kneeled down to pray
But God wouldn't go away
Told she would be safe
Come to no harm
Then came the cold embrace
Of God's arm
Oh she kneeled down to pray
But God wouldn't go away
No words could escape-from her throat
For the love of God-made her choke
Guilt and fear-year after year
When she cried for help-noone would hear
Many years went past
God in her head
Until the shotgun blast
Shot God dead
Oh she kneeled down to pray
And she sent God away
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

God's Thumb
by Billy's Little Trip
featuring Paco Del Stinko on guitar
lyrics by Niveous
-verse-
I hear them whistling
About the things that I do
It's like a scandal
They're saying I'm no good
-pre chorus-
They call me broken
And say that I am losing my faith
Think I'm a lost soul
They wanna show me the way
They give me hard stares
As I walk down the street
They tell my family
Horrible lies about me
-verse-
Say there's a demon
Living under my skin
Because I won't change my faith
And I won't give in
-pre chorus-
I hold onto things
That are important to me
I don't pray like they do
But there are things I believe
There is more to this life
Than you'll understand
Don't put me under the thumb
Of your God's hand
-chorus-
They're treating me like I'm under a curse
Wanna make me confess, they wanna drag me to church
I can feel their pressure pushing down on me
I'm just not as holy as they want me to be
-pre chorus-
I hold onto things
That are important to me
I don't pray like they do
But there are things I believe
There is more to this life
Than you'll understand
Don't put me under the thumb
Of your God's hand
-chorus-
They're treating me like I'm under some fucking curse
Wanna make me confess, they wanna drag me to church
I can feel their pressure pushing down on me
I'm just not as holy as they want me to be
They're treating me like I'm under some mother fucking curse
They wanna make me confess, they wanna make me confess
They wanna make me believe, they wanna make me believe
