I have no summer vacation plans right now. The Mrs. is talking about taking off with her dog and doing some camping in Idaho, which she will enjoy much more without me along (I don't like camping or the outdoors at all).

Reason for not attending SFL at this point is financial - as of Friday, neither one of us will be employed. However, given that the Mrs. is thinking about a couple weeks driving around in the Suburban, I have actually been thinking about those credit card airline miles we have... I might still join in, I'm not sure.

QotD: No plans really, financially can't really afford to take time off from work... maybe if my employer allows me to take 2 vacation days for every day I take off... ;) I'd like to either goto Calgary to visit my Grandfather (Dad's side) or Michigan to visit my Grandmother (Mom's side)... unfortunately both require quite a bit of time off, I don't fly... :? we'll see...

My favorite vacation this time of year is wake boarding, waverunners, boating, etc. I did the estimating, and just gas alone for a 3 day family get away would be around $1,000 bux. That doesn't include rooms, food, fun, etc. We're still going in July, but only once this year. We usually go several times a year.
But I have been surfing more than usual. It's free! I'll be going on a weekend surfing trip to some of the hot spots around Santa Barbara the last weekend of this month.

We're doing a weekend in DC in two weeks (first time for the boys so it's all about the big monuments and Smithsonian Space museum), then the wife and kids are in CT for most of Aug. And the last week of Aug we're car camping across NY state to Niagara Falls.

qotd: I can't attend SF Live in Tampa because I live in Calgary. It's kind of far away. I'm planning on going to Hawaii with the family sometime in August.

Roll Call: I drove out to the studio on my lunch break today. According to the gauge at the bank downtown, it was 107 degrees. That can't be right, can it? I mean, it's hot all right. But I don't think it's 107.

QotD: I'm gonna be home celebrating my middle son's fifth birthday that weekend.

Main reason is travel time at the moment. I don't mind crossing the Pacific - but is the connections from New Plymouth to Auckland and then LA to Tampa that will blow the whole project out of the water. Also, I am currently unemployed and have no house to live in. I expect both of those things will change soon - but it means I have no idea what I may be doing in August.

Sometime in your summer (our winter) we will probably go and check out Mt Ruapehu which is only about 2 hours from Taranaki. We can also ski on our own Mt Taranaki. In our summer we will probably go to the Bay of Islands

DRC: I'm eating a whole bag of orange slices (the candy) and drinking a Rockstar energy drink. Quick somebody hold me down, I'm gonna have a seizure!!! (I appologize to anyone who actually gets those. My Dad does and it f'ing sucks.)

QotD: Well, I live in Kansas. And none of your SF events happen anywhere close to me. Plus umm, I'm not a real musician. I make music on the computer. Although maybe once I'm proficiant(sp?) with my guitar I can do something. Maybe.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

I am pretty sure that salmonella is not a respiratory virus.
