I wrote a great song this week for "Wrath of God" - but I couldn't get my recording of it to sound right - oh well - look out for it on somesongs one day - it really is a beauty.

However - I also tried an experiment - normally I'm a 'lyrics first' man - but I recorded some guitar stuff - and I went back and turned it into a "Cheer Up Shelley" - and its turning out OK (hopefully - I have done a final mix yet).

and just to add to previous stuff:

Pigpen - WTF - don't turn into a dick on us - I've always liked your stuff. This weeks song wasn't one of your better ones - but keep doing what you do - don't be put off by bad reviews, and don't bother arguing. If someone thinks you suck - then you suck for them - it's their problem, not yours.

My throat went boom overnight and now refuses to speak, and certainly not sing.

So if I do end up singing this week for SF it'll be a very raspy-croaky voice. Maybe it'll add something cool to the song.

I've got my second songfight recorded and submitted. It definitely went a lot better this time than for Red Skates. I didn't do it all at the last possible minute, so I had more time to fix it. It's gonna be for wrath of god, and I didn't try to sing too low for my voice this time!

great.. also try turning the vocals up more, relative to everything else, this time! if you have to, reduce the volume on everything else and then increase the overall volume, or something. (i really should not be giving advice in this area!)

Shipped a "Cheer Up Shelley" track. Broke a personal rule and used 2 new components (rather than just one per) in this submission (mixing board & MIDI module). BFD, hey?

And since I'm feeling too lazy to post the lyrics right now, all the words are from my favorite scene in the book "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley.

Game f-ing ON! It's good to be writing and recording again, yo.

Glad somebody took the Frankenstein option - I considered it, that or a Percy Shelley sea-shanty

well i was gonna work on this song for this week... but i couldn't think of lyrics and vocals that would fit it right... i put somethin' together... and realized how much i despised how it sounded... and just ruined the music... so i backed out :::bows:::

but you can all hear the music on my soundclick page... it's 'untitled (no vox yet)'...
and if anybody thinks they can write lyrics to it... that would fit it nicer... you are more then welcome to it...

<a href="http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/poorjunemusic.htm">it is the second song from the top</a>

Here I am, Baby!

Post by Duncan, of Level Nivelo »

Woo, after nearly 2 months away (due to being to busy while doing a show, then getting sick, going on vacation, and being generally uninspired), I am back in da game with "Wrath of God" this week.

It feels good to get off my ass and do something again.

I'm very pleased that I knew what Les Anchois meant without looking it up. Hooray for high school French!
