posting songs on our own websites
For those who post songs on your own website as well as here, is there any particular reason to wait for the fight to be posted here before you put your song up on your own site? It isn't considered being sneaky and trying to get attention for your song before everybody else or something, is it?

Re: posting songs on our own websites
This comes up every once and a while.
There are no rules stating that you can't display your song on the internet before the fight is released.
However, speaking from the past, there are two sides of the fence on this but it has started leaning towards 'do what you want'. It USED to be considered bad etiquette by quite a few people, but that was back when this community was tiny and bit more cliquey. (deny it all you want old timers, you're only fooling yourselves) Now that there are a ton more people... with their own individuality and widespread internet use and vast array of personal websites and the head of steam Myspace has gotten and grown into, people are going to be posting their Songfight songs before the deadline SOMEWHERE and there isn't a damn thing anybody can do about it.
