Question for any of you graphics gurus who work in Fireworks (possibly same in Photoshop): Is it possible to bend a text object. Like could I make a vertical block of text and then make it curve in an 'S' shape, for example?

I don't know about Fireworks but in Photoshop you can. There's a little separate button when you're editing text which looks like a bent grid, which lets you apply text shape effects. It's pretty limited though (for more fine-tuned text stuff you need Illustrator).

You can also separately "free transform" it but Photoshop limits the sorts of transforms you can do to text for some reason (bitmap and vector layers you can do all sorts of things to but text you can only do basic rotate/skew).

your in luck, am a fireworks guru (ie, i hate photoshop).

you do this by using the attach to path command, under the text menu.

1) draw your S or path using any of the VECTOR tools. line, pen, free form vector, tools.

2) type your text

3) select your Text and Path

4) Text Menu > attach to path; further modification to make it look the way you want it is needed.

I accomplished what I wanted by converting texts to path and then manually moving each letter (I hadn't read your post yet Dre...I have a feeling I'll be hitting you up for tips a lot :-)). I think this may be my favorite:

Elite Inner Echelon Blood Circle?

[edit] Oh I didn't see the bug right in the middle of the circle. So not a blood stain or whatever.
