I'm bringing home a bottle of cheap (Andre) champagne tonight.

With the money from my shows this week, and a quarterly bonus from the day job, I paid off our Home Equity Loan at lunch today. That leaves us with nothing but the mortgage. Well, there's the phone/cable/electric bills, and the groceries and all that. But no more loans. After today we're not paying down debt, we're actually building up savings.

And I had four bucks left after paying the loan off, so I got a bottle of Andre. :)

It's a bottle of Pinot Grigio tonight. I got it from a wedding show a week ago, and it had been refrigerated. So I popped it in the fridge and am just getting to it now. I don't usually drink chilled wine. This ain't bad. The glass I'm having now has a little ginger ale in it, and it's downright refreshing on a muggy summer night.

Family was down this weekend helping to install a new tub/shower in our bathroom (By the way, if you're interested in knowing, it takes 23 hours to replace a tub: 8 hours of actual labor and 15 hours of repairing all sorts of crap you mess up or destroy in the process, including a complete rewiring of the path to the water pump). My wife ran out and got a bunch of Gatorade today. We have a good bit left over. Are there any good mixed drinks that use Gatorade in it? Just curious.

Well, Gatorade and vodka is called a swamp cooler. A twist of lime and you have a great drink.
1. fill a glass with ice
2. 1 shot of vodka
3. fill the rest with gatoraid

twist of lime.

Yep, a shower is a major undertaking. Thank garsh I don't have to worry about pumps and siiich.

BLT, I'm ashamed of you! Just one shot of vodka? Hell, my screwdriver last night was 40-40-20 - Vodka, OJ, Gingerale..

OJ and ginger ale? I've never tried it that way. Like Vernor's or the 7-up'ish tasting kind, like Canada Dry?

Thats not a screwdriver. (although it does sound tasty, like a mimosa overdrive or something)

Gatorade doesn't make a good mixer from my experience. Save it for the day after, it'll prove more useful that way.

The nice thing about a swamp cooler is it's a great drink on a hot day and you won't get a hangover.

More like a Canada Dry, though I DID just buy some Vernor's last night (LOVE that stuff). Maybe I'll try that next.

The Ginger Ale helps it to keep it's 'edgy' taste while still killing that turpentine aftertaste from the vodka.

As for Canada Dry and Ginger Ale, let's swap every second letter: to give us: Cingdr Dly and Ganaea Are.

GANAEA ARE a genus of Indochina cicadas, you can buy them on the Internet.

Anyone make a song called Cingdr Dly, and make it a good song?

I love talking like an Aussie when I'm pissed. (that means drunk to us seppos). But I don't try to imitate the accent, I just sneak in words and look to see who gives that odd look. It's funny. Plus, lets face it. The Aussie's have all the best words for stuff.
I'll be like, dude, check ooot that Sheila! Then my friend that's up on shiz will say, ....Dude, nice, Aussie AND Canadian tonight. Then I'll say, You're bloody off roweet, mate, eh. Then he says, Mate'eh?, now you're talking pirate, cha! I say, yeh, piss off!

Amber is the best flavor of Woodchuck. If a liquor has a 100-proof option and you don't take it, you are a fool. Simple economics, people.

I donated $25 to Obama the other day. That's like 20% of my monthly income.

Fivethirtyeight.com has Obama over 300 electoral votes right now, which is the spread I've been offering for a while now. Anyone who wants to take me up on it, I'll give you 1:1 odds for up to $50 'cuz I'm poor.

I'm poor 'cuz I'm lazy as hell.

But I probably live in a nicer house than you.

'Cuz my girlfriend is RICH. WOOOOOO.
