DRC: Hey there Songfighters.
I'm getting mentally prepared for my kid's big birthday party tomorrow. It's a carnival party so there a lot to do. At the same time, I'm trying to find time to write more of Septemberian and find time to do the stuff for my wrestling game. Just the writing for the wrestling game is an estimated 7 hours of writing/typing. Why can't I be like Evie Garland? (wow, that's an esoteric reference)
QotD: What song would you consider your most popular song?
Which song of yours do you think is most widely enjoyed by your audience? (Feel free to dispute the choices of others if you are a fan of their music)

Roll Call: No show tonight! I'm gonna go out and check out some new venues, maybe see a band or two down in the Dover area.

Re: September 19, 2008
JimT probably has the right of it... although he has lots of good songs, and 3 of them are now on my "origami" compilation CDs.
According to my website statistics engine, my most-downloaded track is ... oh, I can't see that info for long-term. Grr. Anyway, this month so far it seems to be my remix of Starfinger's (AKA CRT) track "Curse of the Mommy" - although I am often amazed at what is most-downloaded. Niv might enjoy that the second on the list is The Montserratian Secret Police's "Ottoman".
I don't get a lot of feedback on audience enjoyment, although after SFPA one person posted that my "Fight the Sea" was her favorite of the night.

When we were playing live a lot, the most requested was a song I wrote called Glass Bridge. We ended up making it a closer for every show.

QOTD: Live, "Brother In Law" seems to get the best reaction. Of the recorded stuff, p++'s "Ten Lies" gets the most sing-alongs (strangely enough, when I'm driving drunks home from the bar, heh. They actually request it...) From the same bar, one of the strippers liked my "Sign My Box" enough to include it in her set regularly. Then she went more than a little bit nuts and disappeared from sight. Coincidence? Hmmm, hope so.

Re: September 19, 2008
We have always considered Skyline to be our "hit". However, at the recent show in Seattle, there was more dancing and hollering during Walking the Border. It has turned out to be killer live. Can't wait to play it with the new bass. Gotta get another gig! Apparently, gotta get another drummer, too. Last one has vanished. That didn't last long.

QotD: Three songs come to mind. Dance of the Techno Angels was my first song with lyrics and as I've mentioned once or twice, was purchased for $300 to be used in a jewelry store commerical in Southhampton, NY as BG music. Headphones, the title track of my 1st commerical album is pretty popular. It has by far the most plays on my soundclick account. And of course Walking the Border from my 2nd commerical album is maybe my most popular song ever. It was #1 in Emo on the internet charts a few days after I released the July 1st album. It's remained in the top 10 in Emo almost every single day since then rating at #8 for yesterday.
DRC: Sick as hell since last night. Couldn't take off work either cuz the grocery store I work at was hosting a BBQ and it's like one of the busiest days of the year for us. Oh well, it's over now. Still sick, but now I'm sick on the puter.

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

At this point I think my most popular is probably Man Date. Other contenders are "Coffee Shop and All-Nite Diner" " Talking Side Efects Blues" "Felipe" and "Country Girl"

Re: September 19, 2008
Apparently my two most popular live songs (as in the only two which are ever requested) are Put Cindy Back on the Bus, and Gin Or Ginseng. The latter can be fun to play with a crowd which is amenable to singing along but most of the times I've done it people have just kind of stared at me funny. So.
