Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

November 15-16, 2008

Post by john m »

Damn SF board is so slow the last few days.

WRC: Driving back to Mansfield to sort out more belongings of my deceased aunt, then coming back here and re-reading all of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure because holy shit JJBA is incredible. Oh, and a Day of Defeat scrim Sunday night. "Yay," he said unenthusiastically.

Two days means two questions:

1. If you could have the abilities of any fictional character, what/whose would you pick?
2. Does the Five Years Ago This Week segment on the SF homepage make anyone else feel as old as I feel as I see these titles go by?

Just wait until we implement the "Ten Years Ago" feature in a year and a half...

QotD1: I want Melvin's powers. He makes every song sound like a hit. I want that!
QotD2: I've only been in SF 3 years so no. :D
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

Five years ago seems like yesterday. It's newscasters who appear to be in teenage beauty school that make me feel old. I'm watching the news, thinking "this punk is some sort of financial expert? Not bloody likely!" As for fictional powers, let's see, how about Felix the Cat? Or the Wonder Twins maybe? Who's old now? Some of you SFers have probably never heard of my fictional self!

qotd2: yes

qotd1: I'll have to go with Caravan Ray's second answer here.

drc: My mom's still in town, which means of course I'm seeing way more of my sister than I'd like. I can stand her for maybe 2 hours a month, and at this point it's been like 12 hours over the last few days. And in 10 minutes or so begins yet another cavalcade of biting my tongue and occasionally saying something completely innocent and straightforward which she takes as a direct insult. YAY

QOTD 2: I never feel old and I love the "five years ago today" thing. I almost always add the band(s) to my play list. Kind of the cream of the crop hit list. In fact, I added your "Please Don't Call Me Ken", John. Great song.

QOTD 1: Orgazmo. I figure, I like helping people, I don't like bad guys and I'm pretty good with an Orgazmorator.

Here.

QOTD 2: No it does not make me feel old. But it does occasionally remind me that I'm not one of the "Old-timers."

Chewbacca. His vocal abilities could only improve my singing.

Turning 39 makes me feel older than seeing familiar titles/fights in the 5ya section. I've gotten a lot of goodness from this community over the years, and hopefully I've given a little back too.

1. Superman, if not just for the x-ray vision.

2. Yes.

Also, for the ha ha' folk out there, Jesus was real. You'd have a better argument if you'd have said "God" instead.
