I am entirely sober right now

Hypothetically. What if a tipsy guy was/were to loiter in this little segment of cyberspace?

I am not at all sober right now. MC Frontalot was in town and I went out drinking with him after the SF premiere screening of Nerdcore Rising, and I had two rather strong drinks on an empty stomach. I ended up leaving my bike at my office and taking BART home because I barely trusted myself to walk, much less ride at night.

And even in my inebriated state I STILL TYPE AND CONJUGATE BETTER THAN MOST OF YOU SOBER.

Bite me.

Ya know, Front looks a lot like my wife's gynecologist if you took off his glasses.

..by the way, I love the Front. He is in fact starting a whole new genre, like it or not. I like his fight so much that I'm willing to look past his choice of delivery.

What choice of delivery, and what's wrong with it? Most of his music is commercially-released as normal CDs (albeit label-free).

Your question implies that it was at some point cool to be nerdy in the first place.

Sounds like a Six Man Tag to me. We just need someone to match up with Mkilly. Hmmm. Rone's about your speed, right, Marcus?

Think of all the things you use on a daily basis which was designed by nerds.

Think of how much of our culture relies on things built by nerds.

Now think about anything you have anything to do with that's *not* the result of some nerd's work.

DID YOU KNOW: Barack Obama is a hella major nerd.

Actually, I said "I'm willing to look past his choice of delivery", then you asked "what's wrong with it", then I said "it's nerdy". I didn't say anything was wrong with nerds, I just don't care for that type of music. Am I supposed to force myself to like nerd words because, as you say, nerds are responsible for our worlds greatest accomplishments?
I said I like Front and his fight and that I'm willing to stand behind him, isn't that enough?

Liquid Paper.

The mother of one of The Monkees could not possibly be a nerd.

Honestly, when you said you didn't like his method of delivery, I originally thought you meant like how he distributed his music (like maybe you were confused by his presence in Rock Band 2 or something).

And my defense of nerds was directed at Hoblit.

Something my father has told me from experience at Burning Man: Sometimes you can bike even when you are too drunk to walk. I've not tried it myself, mostly as I get lost even when I'm sober. (Besides, without arms and legs I fit pretty well in a backpack.)

But then, you were talking about SF. I don't trust the drivers in SF well enough to feel comfortable biking.

Oh. I just realized you probably meant motorcycle. That slang of you young people still gets me bamboozled sometimes.

Yeah, I'd think even a tipsy motorcyclist in SF would not be risking death, but would be actively seeking certain death.

Almost by definition being cool is the antithesis of being nerdy.

Being cool is useful to get laid in highschool.

Being nerdy is useful to own the factory where that asshole of a former cool kid spent 37 of his 54 years slaving away making barely more than minimum wage.

Being cool is also useful to get you some random action at nightclubs.

Being nerdy is useful to either have (1) a nice nerdy wife who also brings in fat wads of cash, or (2) acquire a series of hot younger wives who may have been drawn to you because of your money.

This is to say, it has never been cool to be a nerd. It has been very useful to many people, though.
