Wow... it's been many months since I've submitted... I feel as if a huge weight is off my shoulders now that I've actually submitted again and am back in the swing.
Lookin forward to the songs, guys.

Re: Are you in a fog about the next fight?
Glad to hear everyone dissing themselves, because I bit off more than I could chew with my idea also. I won't need to be told about all the performance and mix issues. Instead maybe somebody will comment on the song structure for me? I wasn't 100% sold on what I did.

Not in this time. Never came up with an idea. Some titles are easier to be weird with than others I guess.
Hopefully I'll be in for the next one. Trying not to get in a streak like before where I went multiple months SF-less.

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

I was sure I was out for this one. Then mentioned the title to a friend, who made a suggestion I thought was cool.Rone Rivendale wrote:Not in this time. Never came up with an idea. Some titles are easier to be weird with than others I guess.

Re: Are you in a fog about the next fight?
I had a concept early on, but I kept changing things, so I ended up cutting it pretty close too. Working on some last minute details now, but I'm definitely in.

Re: Are you in a fog about the next fight?
got my concept kind of late and didn't have time to really develop it. i got a verse and a chorus and after i recorded it i really wished i'd have done more with it. the main problem is that my recorder's memory is full. it is too old to hook directly up to a computer for archiving and i haven't had the time to archive what is on it before i erase it. that's why most of what i've been doing has been live takes. i have this week off of work so i plan to start freeing up space in my recorder. fawm is right around the corner. i submitted what i had for this one, and i think you'll be able to tell where i was going with it.

Re: Are you in a fog about the next fight?
Wrote the lyrics on the bus home from Troy. Recorded the song when I got home, while doing the laundry. Start to finish ~4 hours. More minimal than planned, but I couldn't figure out what chords to play.

ok, I'm in. There is much wrong with this song - but after staying up this late, I must submit. I have nothing much to lose. Except bragging rights.

Okay then, I've submitted my opus. I've been paying attention to the critiques of my mediocre mixing skills, and tried to keep it simple this time. This one should be headphone-friendly.

Seems like I'm only able to get a song submitted once every couple of years
Had fun with this one, hope you all enjoy it.

I pulled something together yesterday. It's nothing to shout about, but I do like it twice as much as my Hollywood Wax entry... so yay for improvement.

Re: Are you in a fog about the next fight?
Yet another entry of mine made on the very last day. I've taken what most people seemed to like most about my previous songs (the background vocals) and squeezed in more of that.

Done and done. Everything turned out pretty good as far as I can tell. I think I've done about the best I can do with this tune. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I can say with reasonable certainty that this is the most awesome Metal/Barbershop Quartet song you'll ever hear.

Re: Are you in a fog about the next fight?
No no, I agree 100%. The girth of a musical idea should be sized to one's abilities to handle it. I mean, let's face it, if it doesn't feel good, what's the point, right? .....popcorn?ElaineDiMasi wrote:Glad to hear everyone dissing themselves, because I bit off more than I could chew with my idea also.
