Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Yawn. Here I am at work and I'm already dead to the world...

QotD: If Songfight had a radio station, what would you want on it?

SF Radio is a long time idea that people have often kicked around. Most times we realize that we never have enough free time to make it work. But let's say we could pull off Songfight Radio, what kind of things would you wanna hear? Maybe Artist to Artist interviews? Perhaps SF'ers playing blocks of their faves from the archives? Talk radio shows? "This week in Songfight" news programs??

- A constant stream of the top voted entries from all fights, on random play.
- a short "talk show" where recent winners or bands of significant entries talk about how they put it together
- Spud's fireside chat...kind of free-form

- Mad Dog reading household items.
- Weather reports from around the world.

Wait... music should be on this thing.

So, an on-air reenactment of every WKRP in Cincinnati episode is out of the question then.

I'd love a youtube channel with SFer music videos. Tons of entries would make awesome soundtracks to videos or animations.

As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

QotD: We actually did have a songfight radio for a while didn't we? I'm down with Roy's idea except I'd also add a 'music news' program. (and hope there was reason for update) I admit though, I also like RG's weather reports too. In a funny way (and I'm kind of being serious here) that would make all seem a bit more real to each other. If I hear a Seattle weather report...I'll kind of think of Spud and how he may have to walk the city streets with an umbrella that day.

On my Youtube profile page (http://www.youtube.com/Niveous) I have begun the long laborious task of taking all the YouTube vidoes of Songfighters and making them into one long playlist called "Songfight TV". I may never finish but it's already got a lot of clips.

The things already mentioned and:
- gear wankery. Random (SF) people telling us all about the great stuff they have and why it makes them superior to the rest of us.
- skill showoff. Random (SF) people telling us all about the things they can do and why it makes them superior to the rest of us.
- challenges. (Perhaps) smaller musical challenges on top of or in addition to fights to help participants become superior to the rest of us. Song in an hour competitions come to mind, with a presentation of submissions later on.

An engineering and production how to session. Things like trying out new and different plug ins, drum programing, vocal recording techniques, etc.

I'd like to see certain Songfight heavy-hitters do format shows. Glenn Case could interview other 'fighters, Spud and JB could co-host an inside-scoop type show featuring a call-in "Ask the mods" section. Brad could host a music tech show. BLT and Caravan Ray could be the drive-time morning shock-jocks. Other Songfighters could be DJs, spinning either their favorite Songfight Archive tunes, or just their favorite songs from anywhere.

It would beat the heck out of every radio station in every city I've lived in for the last decade.
