Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I don't know if I can pull it together in the 11th hour but I'm going to give it my best. Pressure! (all in the fun of the GOM)

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
Honestly, I broke a string last night.
I don't think I can finish without it.
Hopefully, I will find another one.
But I probably still won't make it on time.
But I intend to make it at some point, since I am loving what I have so far, even if it's a bit...samesy.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I'm referring to me! And the cricket team also. I didn't think I was gonna make it due to various bouts of ill health but I've managed to put together a song that I think is decently respectable. I'm both pleased and a little lucky to be able to meet the deadline.

Everything's recorded. Now to begin the laborious process of turning all this slop into a song.

Just play on the next string up on a higher fret. Next caller, you're on the air with BLT (cow moo sound) in the morning (fart sound) Ohhhhh, yeahhh.Lord of Oats wrote:Honestly, I broke a string last night.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
Right. I don't have enough time to record as it is, so I'm going to change my whole approach to playing the song.

They sell those at these places called music stores - you can even get them at like Target and stuff. You don't need no BLT.Lord of Oats wrote:Honestly, I broke a string last night.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
So, I'm working on mine, but it won't be at its best if I hand it in now. I think tomorrow will be better. Any chance of another extension?? I've had a lot of vocal issues (yes, like always).

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
Oh, this is not going well. Production quality is way down. I don't know if I can make deadline but I'm working on it. Right now, it would probably sound better if I recorded into a frickin 1984 tape recorder than my laptop.

Also, if I put my DAW in loop mode then hit 'play' it crashes for no reason. Yay technology.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I know I've had a long time to put together this song (especially since I set the deadline) and during the time, I have learned how to play the song and I planned how I was going to do it. I got friends together to help and that arrangement didn't work out. So I went to another arrangement. I got myself some new software to add to the mix. I put all the pieces together and now in the 11th hour when all I need to do is record and be done, it's that aspect that isn't working. If it had the chance to do the song live for my person, I could do that. But this is just a technical error and it's fucking frustrating as hell.

Ah shit, I thought I'd have until midnight tonight PST.
Oh well. I think I'm just gonna submit what I have and tweak further if needed.

Uh yeah-- don't we have until midnight? Niv's last missive lead me to believe as such.
In any case, I'm rippin' and uploadin' right now -- at 11:00pm pst. Bear with me, giftee!
