That's weird.

I thought "Drinking Songs"!!!! WTF - that's my whole repetoire!

Then I looked at my archive - and it isn't.

(though 90% of then involve alcohol in someway I suppose)

This is a bona fide drinking song though
In The Ditch
http://www.songfight.org/music/in_the_d ... ay_itd.mp3

and this one I suppose,
Clip Art
http://www.songfight.org/music/clip_art ... ray_ca.mp3

and this one:
In The Valley
http://www.songfight.org/music/in_the_v ... re_itv.mp3

EDIT:

I had thoughts of copying your FAWM idea and doing an album of Guytar drinking songs - because I am playing solo a fair bit nowdays and I need more gear.

Then I gave up on the idea - I'm too busy

...but who is too busy for drinking songs? That's like being too busy to breath.

Maybe I'll get some more done....

I actually had an idea for Come Down Where You Ought To Be that I shelved, that involved a policeman shouting at a happy, singing drunk swinging on a flagpole. Maybe I'll unshelve it

Lyrics

IN THE DITCH

10:15 Saturday
3 more hours till I feel OK
I got birdcage mouth and red, red eyes
Gotta think up last nights alibis

La la la la la la la la la la la la hey hey

Drunk last night and the night before
Tonight I'm gonna drink some more
I just can't control myself,
Which explains my current state of health

La la la la la la la la la la la la hey hey
I hate the dawning of Saturday morning hey hey

The demon drink has got hold of me
I'm in a state of advanced depravity
I'm lyin' in the ditch with all my money spent
Covered in my own excrement

La la la la la la la la la la la la hey hey
I hate the dawning of Saturday morning
Saturday morning comes without warning
I wish I could go out without being drawn in to drinking so I feel bad in the morning
Saturday morning
Saturday morning
Hey hey.

I only wrote 'little' in reference to the context of the lyrics to better describe what I was going for.

I would have originally written 'little' into the lyrics but it wouldn't fit because I HAD to have the word "order".

All Tan by Blue Spud Shoes. Done for the Live Fight in Santa Cruz. I didn't have much voice left at that point. There were only certain notes I could hit. Unfortunately, they weren't the same ones being played...

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I'm such a damn pessimist all of the time that I don't actually have any "tomorrow is a brand new day"-type of songs. Maybe I just need the right title to come up in the fights.

I actually wrote one yesterday for my FAWM, but it'll probably be another week or so before I can record it adequately. I'll have a demo tonight or tomorrow, maybe?

There were a couple of good ones in here. I always hear Max The Cat's in my head when I think of this fight. http://www.songfight.org/songpage.php?k ... ntoxicated

Maybe I'll drum one up for you, if this lasts all month.

All Tan
Blue Spud Shoes
That's Me, Blue, and if memory serves, King Arthur.
Anyone else who deserves blame, speak up.

I love me the Amber,
I love me the Ale.
I'll even drink a Pilsner,
if it's not too pale.

The Hefeweizens good,
The Doppelbock is great.
I drink 'em in the morning,
I drink em 'til it's late.

[chorus]

There's one beer that escapes me,
It's called a Black and Tan.
Mixed drinks are called cocktails,
I drink mine like a man.
If it's not gonna be a Guinness,
It's gotta be ALL TAN!

[end chorus]

Last week I found a Belgian White,
Way back on the shelf.
I drank a bunch, got high as a kite,
If I do so say myself.

Some people drink the lite beers,
Some even go for ice.
The Budweiser brings big sad tears,
To my bloodshot eyes.

[repeat chorus]

I got a jones for I.P.A.
I drink it by the pail.
Keep away the Lambics,
I'm not some damn female.

A glass all tall and cloudy,
To put me to my bed.
And if you offer light beer,
I'll punch you in the... NECK!

[repeat chorus]

Right now I'm looking at getting to St. Patrick's Day, which will feature a big streaming playlist of all contributed songs that people can listen to while they celebrate the day. I've got, let's see, 16 drinking songs in my repertoire, and I'm supposed to be writing more this month. That's not going too well yet. Anyhoo, I think I can get to March 17.

I love those lyrics, Spud!
I like the idea of writing something for this. Do we have to concentrate on beer/hard liquor or is this drink-agnostic?

Am I crazy...or are you just doin' the lyrics? (Or maybe I should sign up) I sent a couple of people over and they couldn't 'play' the song. Unless I completely got the wrong impression and then I apologize.

EDIT: I see yesterday's player loaded, today the player doesn't look to be loading. :*(
