6th February 2009

Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Happy Waitangi Day!

A bonus holiday I wasn't expecting!

And I expect the dancing in the streets has already started over there Stateside!!! At the Wellington Rugby Sevens - the perennial World Champions, Fiji have just had their arses kicked by our American friends!

USA! USA! USA!!!!!!

QotD: Why is it so much fun to see the underdog get up?

QOTD: Because we've all been there at one time or another.

I guess we have to use this used thread for today. This thread reminds me of the commercial with the old roll over minutes.

It's raining cats and dogs here. Seriously. You walk outside and all you hear is, bark bark bark bark splat!

I'm in the mood to put a simple boop bap drum beat on the machine and Rock the Cashbox.

QotD: I think one of the few things more fun than seeing an underdog win is seeing a top dog lose. In fact, sometimes the more humiliating the loss, the more enjoyable it is. So we want the little guy to win, in part, just to see the big guy fall.

Personally, I feel that all competition is bad. I'm really hoping my daughter doesn't want to do any competitive sports.

... then again, I am a huge SongFight fan, and it most definitely is a competition... I'd be lying to say I didn't want to -- if not win -- at least not suck some day...

Okay, I know. I'll compromise. If my daughter wants to do SongFight, I'll let her.

On a related note: My favorite competitive sport is competitive eating.

The strange Zen calendar that we got for Christmas from Erin's parents actually has this holiday on it.

Pretty much every calender I've ever seen has it on it. I don't usually get the day off work for it though.
