Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

That koala bears is cool and not even afraid of the firefighter. Could be that it's just so exhausted and dehydrated from the fires it doesn't care.

I'm going to sound really petty and whiny complaining about my schedule in light of how Roymond started this thread, but it's hard to care right now.

6:30am - woke up, got dressed and drove over to the auto repair center
7:15am - arrived at the auto shop, signed off on letting the insurance company tow it away, and extracted everything I still wanted to keep from the battered remains of my old vehicle.
8:15am - left the repair shop for work.
9:00am-6:00pm - got to work. Took calls from people who are about to get evicted from their homes.
(some will notice that, during work, I made a few posts here. Other non-work-related things I managed to do at work today: called insurance company about my disbursement, which isn't nearly enough to replace the lost vehicle with anything comparable, and got rejected for a finance loan for the difference)
6:20pm - wandered around Petsmart looking for either some bedding for the degus or someone who could help me find it.
7:00pm - got home. The wife and I had to put together the new cage for the degus. We need a new cage because they're too cooped up in the old one, and they've been fighting.
8:00pm - just about finished with the cage, took a moment for dinner. Since Allyson cooked, I had to do the dishes. There was about a week's worth of them in there, and the garbage disposal is clogged... again. Then the trash was overflowing, so I took that out.
8:45pm - the wife and I migrated to the bedroom to relax and watch the news. It started raining. Shortly following the rain, it began to leak in our bedroom.
The wife is so ashamed of the mess around our room that she literally refuses to let me call maintenance until we've spent an hour cleaning up.

And here I actually thought that I'd be able to get some recording done tonight.

At least you've got a good idea of what's been causing it, now. I hope the bigger cage works.

An observation about how their situation may parallel your own needs for an improved environment...

You guys should enjoy the same pleasure of a neat house that the maintenance guy gets, or you'll be living like the degus.

I'm a good guy. Have you met my parents? Proof that good can come from evil.

DRC: I could have done without that three hour nap. Then again I had nothing better to do anyway.

QotD: No. I don't believe that evil exists. Ignorance, sure; helplessness, sure; but not evil.

You realise of course that it is all those bloody koalas that actually START the fires in the first place!

I read this in the Conservapedia.
Owing to their diet of eucalyptus leaves, which contain a volatile oil, Koalas are highly flammable and frequently burst into flame spontaneously.

Between the exploding ones and the dropbears - koalas are pound-for-pound the most dangerous animals on earth.

I was trying to think of caption about not adding water, but I felt I had already spent too much time not being production and I was drawing a blank.

Then again, microwaves are useless without water :)
