Friday thirteenth of February two thousand and nine

Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Friday thirteenth of February two thousand and nine

Post by jast »

For a change, I'm currently working on my personal music website. Actual work getting done, wow!

QotD: do you believe in anything that many people laugh at you for? If so, please share so we can laugh at you.

I have this silly belief that all Germans have mustaches and are douches. People start to laugh at me when I say this, but then they think about it and have to agree with me.

I have this silly belief that all Canadians got their first real six-string at the 5 and dime in the Summer of '69. People start to laugh at me when I say this, but then they think about it and have to agree with me. Either that, or they say - "Funny, I never think about Canadians at all. Why would you"?

I have this silly belief that all Australians that move to New Zealand slowly start to develop pointed ears. People start to laugh at me when I say this, but then they think about it and have to agree with me. Either that, or they say, "The only time I laugh at an Aussie is when they lose to South Africa."

Where the hell is everyone? I'm waiting for someone to post so I can take something that is said out of context and make some stupid remark. :P

I'm going to Mexico to tramp over some ruins. Have at it. See you in a week.

Crap, that's not much to work with, but you DID officially say tramp, so you leave me no choice.

So Roy, how much do you charge the ruins for a night of pleasure?

If you tramp on a ruin, does it make it more ruined?

"See you in a week"....I thought you said that you were going to Mexico for a week?

I believe that the original Kindle was better looking than the overscaled beige iPhone that is the Kindle II. Laugh if you must. I liked the original better. I will let these two image montages speak to my aesthetic preferences:

Sorry, no laughing. I don't like the Kindle's design much but I like the typical bland rounded corner Apple design a lot less.

I'm in DC until Tuesday.

Based on those photos there, I agree with Spud. I like the 'idea' of the Kindle, but I already spend most of the day staring at digital images on screens. Paper is a welcome change. :)

QotD: When I was a little kid, I thought aliens were going to walk in through the door and get me. I had all sorts of nightmares about aliens... Sleestaks would sneak into my closet, I was kidnapped by R2D2, etc. I was so terrified of aliens that I would *only* sleep on one side so I could always be facing the doorway at night. I never ever ever flipped over once. That probably went on for two or three years. I think my nose is crooked. :/

R2D2? What's he going to do, slowly nudge you to a secret location? All you have to do is walk and you can out run him. Then when you get tired, just knock him over.

Kindle uses eInk, which actually looks (and interacts with your eyes) almost exactly like paper. There's no backlight, no eye strain, etc.

Kindle 2's design is ass. The only problem with Kindle 1's design was the terrible plastic color, and of course that's the only thing they KEPT in 2. Sigh.
