Don't feel too bad... I'd give anything to have never been in love... I'm thinking of looking into some Sunshine of the Spotless Mind type of therapy... or possibly a little self surgery Pi style...Rone Rivendale wrote:AwwLML wrote:Too bad I've never been in love.

Yeah. Totally bums me out. lol. I don't think musicians are allowed to date. Interferes with their music. Some kinda law or something.

Re: Thinkin' about the Next Fight
Hmm. I actually think there might be something to LML's theory, when taken literally. Number of songs I wrote in my last two years of high school: 70-something. Went to college, started dating Allyson, wrote maybe 10 songs in four years. Married Allyson, and have now written nearly 20 songs in the last three months. So quite literally, dating (but not being married) interfered with my songwriting.Reïst wrote:Word. If I ever succeeded romantically, I probably would stop writing music altogether.LML wrote:Yeah. Obviously, correlation does not imply causation here (after all, I was dating the same girl for most of my senior year of high school, when I put out some of my best work, and I didn't really start recording music again until more than six months after my wedding), but I find it somewhat amusing.
Back on topic...
I'm working on a demo of my "Thinkin' about the Old Days" for a potential collaborator... This one will be interesting, to say the least.

Not if your G/F is also a musician. Look at the Redmons.Reïst wrote:Word. If I ever succeeded romantically, I probably would stop writing music altogether.LML wrote:Yeah. Totally bums me out. lol. I don't think musicians are allowed to date. Interferes with their music. Some kinda law or something.
But it is tough if your other half, or in my case, my evil half, isn't a musician and every ounce of your creative musical outlet is the equivalency of running through a minefield in the dark while being shot at from all directions. Then when you finally reach safety on the other side you throw your hands in the air and scream out to the world, I'M ALIVE... I'M ALIVVVVE!
.......then my song doesn't win. 8)

Re: Thinkin' about the Next Fight
Don't think about winning think about being totally ripped to shreds on the reviews. I play what I want, in any style I want, when I want. I went a whole year without making music. I was dating someone at the time. Sounds like a conspiracy theory. In golf they say once you get married your handicap goes right out the window. Maybe it's the same with music? So in essence what I'm saying is if you date people you become retarded. What were we talking about again?
ETA: Also I think I'll be making two entries to this song fight. One as LML, and the other as a collabo. Here's a hint on who they are. They are not Mr. T.

Re: Thinkin' about the Next Fight
I haven't been single for almost three years. Music keeps on coming, so I guess I'm the exception. Or something.
In other news, I think I may have pneumonia, so it's very unlikely for me to be in this fight.

Re: Thinkin' about the Next Fight
Scott plays fingerstyle acoustic and a also little cello (see Hxaro covers, King Arthurs' "Troublemaker" performed by H & H). He's always 100% supportive of my music stuff, plus I love listening to him practice Pierre Bensusan and Jacques Stotzem tunes around the house. So, win-win. (Well, I don't know what he wins exactly... but it's double win for me.

All I know is if I have a musician as a boyfriend and he wants to make a band, he's going to be forced to wear a boat captain's hat. Brutally forced.

And since Teplin previously said that he and I had the same childhood, I infer that - well, you already saw what he said about the Captain's hat.

Manly! I'd wear something like that, except....you know, minus the swastika

Or hey, how about this hat?
That's better than captain, baby... that belonged to an admiral! Ah, I can see myself now...

Yeah! How about that, huh? Yeah!
