About a year and a half ago, when I bought http://www.jon-eric.com and the webspace to host it, I figured it wouldn't be long before I could carve out the time to learn the necessary skills and build myself a site tailored to my personality and my needs. It's eighteen months later and that hasn't happened, and I'm way too busy these days to learn the necessary skills to make it myself anytime soon.
I'd like to have an attractive and functional website some time in the near future. Nothing too fancy, just the songs, a Blogger-powered news feed, some pictures, links to other Songfighters, and maybe a schedule of live gigs if I start getting them. I'm sick of delaying it. I don't have the necessary skills, but I do have some money (fancy that!). Is there anyone here willing to either volunteer his/her own services to this effort, or to recommend me to someone else? If I hire a freelance web designer, how much is it likely to set me back?
Of the Songfighters around here, has anyone had someone else build a website for them? If so, who? How much did it cost, and were you satisfied with the results?

Re: Websites
I made this for BLT: http://blt.songhole.org and I would be willing to adapt the code for your purposes. Ask BLT how awesome it is for updating purposes. There is a control panel behind every page that lets you add new items.

Re: Websites
Yep Jon, Spud really designed it slick. He set it up with simple clickable tags to add content and check boxes to remove content. Simple fields to add artwork, MP3s, descriptions, etc. Then it automatically arranges it in a preset layout with a player after I click submit. I don't completely understand FTP part of it, but the way Spud set it up, I really don't need to.
