DRC: It's raining like hell out here. But hey, I say that's a good thing. Get it out of the way before SF:NYC.

QotD: Uh-oh. A bar fight has just broken out and you are right in the middle of the chaos. Which Songfighter do you want at your side?

QotD: Does it have to be someone who's still active in the community? If not, then definitely Blue Lang.

First choice: Either of p++'s "touring" drummers.
Second choice: Paco del Stinko.
Third choice: Neil Thrun. We'd get our asses kicked, but the narration would be worth it.

DRC- The good: Scott bought me a tennis racquet yesterday, and I'm excited to learn how to play. The bad: I'm not looking forward to getting kicked off the Isle of Nur Ein this week. The ugly: I don't really care for my Suze Orman haircut. Grow, hair, grow!

QotD: Elaine and Erin. We could ditch that dive and have a gal's night somewheres else. And Lynette too, if she's legal. :)

Roll Call: My buddy Chris loaned me a Toneport thingy that allows me to finally do some recording straight into the computer. Lots of learning to do, but the results already sound much better.

horrible idea, as I'm usually WAYYYY too fdrink to fight. I'd have to take ... hm...
Rabid, because looks like one of those frighteningly wiry guys. Ife he pussied out, I'd call for Blue. I bet he'd kill everyone through overwhelming verbal abuse.

qotd: Caravan Ray. He looks imposing enough and he's funny enough that he'd make everyone forget they were angry at each other.

Runner-up, Spud, same reasons.

QOTD - I thought of Spud first. Although we've never met, he looks like a big dude with both brains and an authoritative manner. I also thought of the Klownhole gang, wherever they may be.

Looks like I will be taking a different job, same workplace. Small increase in pay, different, more paper oriented tasks, but still around the patients and familiar staff. However, likely to be involving some weekends. See if I can't wrangle a decent schedule out of the change, though, somehow.

Oh damn, I almost forgot about the mountain of a man from the primitive screw heads. In fact, the whole P++ band (or how ever those psychos spell it) I don't mind that Albatross is great at scrabble, he can pull guys off me with one hand before they kill me. And as I lay almost dead on the ground, he will kneel down to check my heart beat. I will then lick his cheek and mutter in German, "oh, a white chocolate giant."

....ok, I stole that bit from "Miracle at St. Anna", but it's a great movie and Seth Mcfarland would be kind of proud that I tried.

Looks imposing?!?!? WTF?! Maybe if you are drinking at bars in Smurftown...

....actually, now I think about it, I do recall having lunch with you, King Arthur, Dre and Hoblit. In that company - yes, I guess I do look imposing.

Yes - I have been drinking with the P++ people in a place that looked like Moe's Tavern from The Simpsons. Felt perfectly safe every second. Albatross oozes menace. I think it was menace.

The person I don't want to be with is Ben Charcoal. May as well put up a flashing light saying - "Arseholes...come and hit us!"

I'm pretty sure the central idea is that due to your incredible amount of awesomeness, anyone wanting to fight would then be too busy being overwhelmed by how awesome you are... and lose interest in fighting your companion(s). Who could then make a hasty retreat while you are busy standing there being awesome, and the would-be attackers are busy standing there with you, overwhelmed by the awesome.

[edit 1] Oh yeah... qotd - I'd say Chris Hoblit. Although he comes across as very mellow, the whole ripped-off sleeves thing has the potential to look very intimidating.

[edit 2] Or, possibly the Pumpkin Buzzard guys because I'm certain they could scare the bejeezus out of anybody.

[edit 3] On reflection, I think actually the best choice would be the Front-a-Little Squad. Because they're like the Flintstone vitamin kids.*

I was thinking along the lines of ...

[reist drunk slaps a nice looking woman's buttocks]
[guy] "what the hell man, that's my girl"
[reist] "oh dang, another bar fight ... RONE!"
[guy] "rone?"
[enter rone]
[rone stares guy in the face and begins to rap]
"Did my time and now I'm free
Better watch out it's the new me

Didn't do it doesn't matter
Paid my dues and got much phatter

Went in as a skinny nothing
Came back out a buff something

Was kind hearted when I started
But my imprisonment has made me retarded

I'm back from Juvie and I'm out to stay
But if you know what's good for you you'll keep away"

[everybody pauses for a moment, then a disco ball comes down and everybody dances]
