Case No Point - Podcast

Post by GlennCase »

(EDIT: The shows can now be found at http://casenopoint.blogspot.com/)

Thinking of doing the podcast thing again. The Case No Point podcast would always be exactly 24 minutes in length, but that's all I know for sure.

Created a 'pilot episode' for you to listen to. Question is: Would you want to listen to a podcast like this? Let me know.

What an odd coincidence. I was just about to restart the Knives podcast (as part of my website justification project- which is also why I'm not doing the Top 10 thread so much).

I loved the House of Delusions podcast, so I'd be a regular listener of Case No Point. But the 'has to be a certain length of time' thing is silly and just gives you extra work.

It's true that there is extra editing involved in order to reach a target time length, but the effort it takes to do so is minimal. More importantly, I like having a specific goal of time to shoot for. It forces me to consider what I want to accomplish in that amount of time. The same way you have a character limit on places like twitter, or the way Songfight makes you write to a title. I find it to be comfortable to have at least one thing that is set in stone. I have to try to make the most of the time I have allotted.

Glad you'll be listening, good sir! Not sure how often I'll make these, but the smaller show length will probably make it more appealing to me.

Nice Glenn. I just listened start to end. I'm used to your longer shows, so it went by fast. But it's great to listen to while sitting here doing paper work. Always interesting musical finds and of course a great radio voice and entertaining delivery.

By the way, when referring to SF, we're not all Internet geek musicians. Not that there is anything wrong with that and the majority here are geeks to one degree or another. But I like to think of myself as a lovable keeg. I fight for the rights of keegs everywhere that are the minority in the geeks world.

....I'm thinking about forming a parade, but unfortunately at the moment it's just me and a REALLY cool flag that says keeg on it.

24 minutes? Hmmm... yeah, that's plenty of space for future inserts at the top, middle & bottom.

Haven't listened yet (so that talking out my ass-umption could be so off the mark), but I will before too long. Good luck!

As promised, I made a pan of cinnamon rolls, drank my coffee and as expected, enjoyed your second installment of Case No Point.

Hats off to you Glenn and Rach, another great show and yet, one more new band I've never heard of and now love. Pop Levi. I've heard the name (I think) but have never heard the music. As my friends know and some SFers as well, I'm a closet funker. I'm always trying to find a nice blend of rock, trashy punk and groovy funk in my musical creations. But Levi delivers for sure. Funny that your first two episodes have introduced me to two new bands I like and they both have Levi in their name.

Image
The cinnamon roll look odd because they are my own recipe. Apple cinnamon pin wheels, made with phyllo dough. One is missing on the plate because I'm eating it as I type....with one non sticky finger.

Break out your cinnamon rolls! It's that time again.

Sorry that I don't have another 'Levi' based group in store for you with episode three. Instead, I'm guessing that the Remi Stevens song is going to be particularly up your alley. Honestly, I can imagine BLT knocking out a ripping cover of 'Girls Dig Musicians'.

....damn, I used the last of my phyllo dough on my fajita poppers the other day.
I'll just make some cinnamon toast. :P << Silver lining face

edit: Glenn, you have an extra "t" in blogspot on your link in your post for episode three. But I have your page bookmarked, so I'm kooo.

Another great show Glenn and a new find for me this week. I loved the Remi Stevens and the Gang of Thieves song. They are interesting, to say the least.

Hey, you almost had another Levi, but Ric from Temple Scene spells it Levy.

Oh, and when I went to make my cinnamon toast this morning, do to the lack of phyllo dough, what did I find but a pan of industrialized prefabricated cinnamon rolls with natural and artificial flavoring. :P

Funk, groove and blues! Great picks, Glenn. Cool that you had another music trivia buff on the big orange.

Nah. Normal life just got in the way for a while there. I anticipate more of that, but I haven't given up by a long shot. Been meaning to get D on as a host for about a week, but the schedule just wasn't lining up.

I'm sure the updates will be sporadic, but 24 minutes seems to be the perfect length for whenever I get the urge to make a show. Doesn't take a ridiculous amount of time on my part to make the episodes.

Thanks for continuing to listen, BLT!

Okay! After a long hiatus, two new episodes of "Case No Point" have been uploaded.

Unfortunately, the second one revolves around me... You can avoid that one if you like. Make sure to check out Episode 6, though.

Here they be:
